There is a friend of mine who is really special to me and I been thinking about him a lot lately. He is special to me because he accepts me for me ever since the day that we first met. Since that day, I felt a special connection with him. I don't know what would be a good way to tell him that I have a crush on him ever since we first met. _________________ "Support, love, and acceptance"

I had this same problem with a friend myself. When I first met him, I was afraid I was falling in love. Then we worked together for a while and I stopped thinking of him in those terms, partly because I was going through so many upheavals and my situation had distracted me. But one night, after my problems had more or less been taken care of, I dreamed that he kissed me.
At that point I decided the best way to let him know would be to simply come right out with it. So the next time I saw him, I asked if he would ever consider kissing me. He said he'd definitely consider it. Since that time we have been, if nothing else, friends with mutual attraction.
I suppose I may come on too strong at times because I'm shy and don't know how best to hint at things, but I've always thought the best way to broach the subject is to be completely open and honest. Maybe start off by mentioning some of the things you've done together that you've really enjoyed, and then say that you've come to care about him a great deal and might want to be something more than friends.
Best of luck to you! And who knows... he may be feeling the same way! |

Hey that's great you may have the click factor.
I also believe you should be open and honest about how you feel about him and get him to be open and honest about how he feels about you. So you both know where you both stand with each other. |

I remember when I told him that I think that he is cute, he went, "alright" with a big smile on his face. _________________ "Support, love, and acceptance"

Take this as advice from somebody who don't know nothing.
Keep your eyes open for some place, some event or something he'd really like to go to, based on what you know about his interests and tastes. Make sure it's something you'd enjoy too. Mention to him that you were thinking about checking it out.
If he thinks it would be fun, or interesting, or whatever, suggest that maybe you and him should go together.
Congratulations, you're now on a date with him. _________________ Folks said

The closest thing that I got a date with him is when I went bowling with a few of his fraternity brothers and he paid for my way. _________________ "Support, love, and acceptance"

The update: Today I called my friend up and we talked for awhile. I mentioned to him that I like him, he was flattered about it, but just wants to be friends. He believes that since he and I have a great friendship, it might things complicated. To me, he is a great friend and I don't want to jepodize it either. _________________ "Support, love, and acceptance"

| Congrats! That's what I was going to recommend. Just be like "Hey, wanted to let you know I really care about you." and see how it goes. No way to know without asking. At least he was cool about it. I know some people get weird about it and then don't even want to be friends, which sounds lame to me but whatever. |

That's a good decision. I told a friend I liked her a couple of years back, and though she couldn't reciprocate (for a few reasons, chief among which was the fact that I don't have two X chromosomes), we're still great buddies, and she means an awful lot to me (as I do to her, it would seem, since she's always quick to make sure I know how much she thinks of me). It broke my heart in twain when it happened - but as you say, it's better to have someone as your friend than lose them entirely... _________________ Why so serious? |

When Greg signed my memory book before my college graduation, he wrote this message: "It has been an honor working with you on SDA and having a great friend like you. Congradulations on graduating and I hope for nothing but the best for the future."
When I read that, I think that I have at least one best thing, which is him as my best friend. _________________ "Support, love, and acceptance"
