Relationship issues

In a post of one of the Yahoo autism/Asperger groups that I am a part of, someone asked me if I am planning on pursuing a relationship or wait until my friend comes around. I responded that I will eventually pursue a relationship with someone that is close to my age (I will be 27 in August) in the frame of someone in their 20s to early 30s. Of course, I got some posts saying that my life experiences should be more in common with someone in their 40s and 50s, rather than someone that is in their early 20s. My friends are in their 20s and I shared more experiences with people in their 20s, like any typical person in their 20s.

Here are my reasons for perferring to date someone closer to my age:

* I spent more time with people closer to my age

* I have more things in common with people closer to my age

* My life experiences are similar to people my own age

* I was turned off by someone that is in late 30s that I have a feeling that is despreate to be in a relationship and I felt that he was going too fast.

* My friends are closer to my age.

I hope that this will help understand my reasonings for dating someone closer to my age. I spent more time with others that are close to my age and I am more comfortable with them.

Thank you. I did not mention this, but I simpily want to avoid the drama and gossip and I am less likely to have that when I am in a relationship with someone close to my age.
