First off, it sounds like now is a good time to sit down with your boss and find out what your job duties are compared to what you really are doing.
If it is "your" job to do all of the grunt work (and not that of your coworkers), then you need to write out what tasks are regularly done (how long does it take to fill the waste drums for example) so that you can order them in advance. I use post-its to remind me of stuff like that, or set a specific date. For example, part of my job is to clean out the email box that our sources use to opt-out of our emails or tell us of issues. I set that as either Friday or if Friday is a holiday, then the last work day of the week. This way, it always gets done.
If you coworkers are suppose to assist you with the grunt, then maybe you need to not do something once in a while and when they yell at you, tell them to calmly discuss it with your boss who should back you up that you are not the only one who is suppose to take care of that stuff. |
