Perhaps porn and beer would be better use for you.

I would rather have my money sent to a program on an invisible boogie man.

The topic of Obama & religion make me think of :

1. Cling to guns & religion
2. AIDS designed to kill blacks
3. The Obamas have been going to hate rallies for 20yrs.
4. Obama was born to a Muslim father, which means he's a Muslim for life.

If AIDS was designed to kill blacks, why are there still black people living today?

And how do you instruct a virus who to infect and who to leave alone? A virus?

Poppycock!! That is like saying that a person born to a Jewish mother is a Jew for life. The Jews may believe it, but if that person is not raised a Jew and as an adult practices some other faith (or no faith at all), they are not a Jew.

Your posts make me think you are a religious bigot, or a semi-mindless tool of the bigots.

There are viruses which affect some races more than others. The Apartheid regime of South Africa was researching such weapons. Africa remains by far the region most affected by AIDS. I don't think that AIDS was engineered by humans at all (it probably jumped from chimpanzees to humans). But recent history like the Tuskegee Experiment have led many African Americans to believe that parts of the medical community are partaking in genocide against them. I think it is mostly paranoia, but inspired by real world events.

It's paranoia.

AIDS doesn't seem to care about race. See, if you're just a virus, you have no racial motivation in what you do. Black people keep themselves down with their own BET culture.

I don't like the idea of mega-churches. I wouldn't support them no matter which ethnic group it was. Mega-churches have this disease called gigantism. They are not well.

I agree that anyone who engages in the exchange of bodily fluids places themself at risk, and that reducing risky behavior is a key to slowing the spread of AIDS.

But viruses can discriminate to some degree on the basis of genetics. Having a certain blood-type, for example, can make you more (or less) susceptible to measles or other viral diseases. This is consistent with the findings that isolated islands (with less frequent but more severe measle epidemics) tend to have a different distribution of blood types, and the longer the island has been settled, the greater the difference in blood types.

Malaria (a parasitic disease, not a virus) also discriminates. The reason that sickle cell anemia is common in Africa, and Thalassemia is common in the Mediterranean region is that these genes confer partial protection against malaria, and are selected for in those regions. Malaria prefers people without those genes, and is more likely to seriously infect and kill people without those genes.

Black Americans are 13% of the population, but they made up 49% percent of new HIV infections in recent years. Is this because whites are not promiscuous, always use protection, or don't use needles to inject drugs? I don't think so.

Yeah, too bad I'm not a US citizen. 2 Parties, 3 Parties, 11 Parties ... does it really matter how many choices you have if every choice is a lousy one? Don't we know that elections are basically a tossup between a giant douche and a turd sandwhich?

To add to this:

I am always sceptical on this funding thing. It always seem to go to Abrahamic faiths, or at least a large dose of it (to Christianity). It makes sense as the majority of Americans allegedly follows these principles. However, if such was the case I would rather support this since I doubt much would go to any organization that adheres to similar beliefs to mine. I'm not even sure if they even know it exists outside of watered-down self-help books--which is always written by some new-age lunatic. So much misunderstanding exists.

I doubt many Americans understand any religious practice outside of Christianity. I don't even think many Americans even understand Christianity. Perhaps, this money might be put to good use after all.

Confused

I'm an atheist, but you must admit this is a brilliant political move. As long as be beats McCain, I'll play along.
