It is a misconception that certain clothes worn by women will force men to harass them. I say round up every last one of those vermin and have them neutered.

Most people simply don't realize what sexual harassment is. It can be as simple as complimenting a woman on her looks, staring at her ass, etc.

If that is true, Beefy, I think we are all guilty of sexual harressment. Aren't we supposed to compliment women on their looks? And if no one notices you staring, where's the harm?

You mean to tell me that (modern) women don't do the same with men?

I'm guilty of about a trillion counts of leering and eye-humping.

Well, it isn't defined that way in the workplace or the courts... it typically has to be a persistent pattern of unwelcome attention unless it is something blatant. If a person says nothing about it, it isn't legally harassment - they have a responsibility to communicate that certain comments made them feel uncomfortable, and they need to set boundaries. If a woman says "I really don't like it when you tell me you like to see me in dresses because it is unprofessional, etc.etc." and the person continues to do so, then yes, it could be considered harassment in some cases.

Staring at a person's ass, or their crotch, or whistling at people ... now that might be considered harassment - depends, really.

No idea of the reality, never been to Egypt, but I'd be surprised if the "Egyptian Center for Women's Rights" issued a report saying anything else.

If the other person enjoys it, it's flirting... if not, it's harassment...

If they only partially enjoy it, it's a flip of a coin...

if they enjoyed it but now they're getting fired for incompetence, it's a sexual harassment lawsuit...

Love the "Buddy Jesus" Slowmutant.
And Yes, I'v quit a job at a restaraunt in Dania Beach Florida over the disgusting comments that the owner said to me and once he slapped me on the butt when I walked past him and that was it for me. I was much younger and more inexperienced then and did't know any better, cause now I'd OWN his restaraunt if he tried that. Oh and heres the kicker....he WAS Eqyptian. I'm not surprised by the article.
Nothing against Eqyptian Men as a whole, but that was my first experience w/ the culture and it wasn't a good one sad to say.

I think that is the idea... If you expand this neutering project to the rest of the Middle East and North Africa, I'm in.

I've never to Egypt but have been harassed in Turkey.

I was in this market and was looking at some shoes in a stall, next thing I knew this man, about my age, started to rub his crotch against my leg and said something along the lines of 'you want to go somewhere more private' (statement not question). I then walked away with my Mother. It really shot my nerves, he seemed to think it was alright to do it and it really bothered me.

Though, I've heard that men in Turkey usually appear respectful to women and this is not a usual happening.

Hey, knucklehead, if you live in Tampa-hellhole-of-Florida you have no business knocking New York. I pass thro Tampa only as needed to visit a relative there, and there is no city that I can recall where the men's attitudes toward women are worse. It is a trip back to 1930's Batista Cuba.

That is a ret*d definition of "harassment".

And it's Egypt. Is anyone actually surprised?

Um. What if you're harassed by a female? Some women can be pretty harassing.

Considering that a great deal of Egyptian women are circumcised. Other than that, yes (to an extent). This is a country which rages against Ruby's belly dancing videos, and basically shuns anything relating to sex in the media.

This is why they prefer to make their woman look like ghosts or ninjas. That way they'll be afraid of harassing them.
