I want to run for town office as soon as I am able.
Unfortunately, that means that I must wait almost a year after I turn 18, since town elections are about two months before my birthday.

Some?
Where I live, it's all.
Most of them just go by party though.
And most don't vote, because the Democrats win every election. Why bother (most of them Favor Democrats, then a lot also favor Greens and a few Republicans. Most libertarians tend to not vote or favor other parties. A lot of socialists in Amherst as well, with an overinflated impression of their importance).
I'm the sort of person who just yearns to cast a protest vote in major elections, vote on ballot questions for electoral reform, and to perhaps make a difference in more local elections.

I saw him on some footage of an interview on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart last night. He sounded too naive to be a mayor. This was what he said (or something really close to it) on the footage:

Interviewer: How will you have time to be mayor while making time for a high school?

Michael Sessions: Well, I go to school from 7:00 to 3:00, so I will work on city stuff from 3:00 to 6:00.

When I heard that all I could think was: WTF!?! 'City stuff'? 'From 3:00 to 6:00'? This boy is in for a painful surprise.

Actually, depends on the size of the city.
Based on the votes cast, I'm guessing that its about the size of my small town, maybe slighly smaller.

I seem to recall that out last slectman race was 800 to 700 or so.
