Occaisionally I'll listen to bluegrass, or stuff like Johnny Cash, and Hank Williams Sr. I', also openminded about some of the alterna Country/Folk ,(think No Depression Magazine type stuff) but that's about it.
I think that the stuff that's been coming out of Nashville for the past 25 years has been crap. --Don't take that as putting your music down, as I tend to hate commercial music that has "chart appeal" anyways. _________________ "Blessed are the Distinctly Alien, for they shall inherit the Earth." -- Genesis P. | Johnny Cash is great. Under the looser definitions of country, I also love Amy Grant and Nickel Creek/Chris Thile's solo albums. |

I love Johnny Cash. I really need to listen to more country, suggest some defining artists and i'll consider buying some records of theirs. _________________ My chest is aching, burns like a furnace that burning keeps me alive.

Stompin' Tom is the only country singer I'd ever allow played on my stereo. Johnny Cash has some neat tunes but the rest? Naaahhh. _________________ If "manners maketh man" as someone said

Give Doc Boggs a listen. More hardcore emotion in his lyrics and music than any of the poseur Emo or Nu-Metal crap that passes itself off as music these days. --and he uses just a banjo as accompanyment. Some of his best stuff was recorded by the Smithsonian Folkways archive project in 1929. _________________ "Blessed are the Distinctly Alien, for they shall inherit the Earth." -- Genesis P.
