I built a liquid reservoir for a glycol computer cooling system.
It cost about 17 dollars for the parts, plus a little extra for glue and incidentals. It will be strapped to the back of my brothers computer, and later I will make another for his other computer. I plan to paint it glossy black to hide the lettering and imperfections.
Its 20 cm tall(8 inches), 7.5 cm diameter(3 inches) and holds 0.75 liters at the full line.
Radiator fluid flows out the lower fitting(made of brass), through a pump, then through a copper block mounted where the CPU fan normally is, drawing the heat out. The fluid will flows into radiator, expelling heat, and the now cooled fluid flows back into the container through the upper brass fitting. For tubing I bought 6 feet of vinyl.
Having gotten my feet wet, so to speak, the next idea is to outfit my own computers. I plan on using the interior heater radiator from a automobile. If I can acquire a milling machine I can mill the copper block as well. For a pump I will use a aquarium pump.
