Asking "what is the meaning of life?" is a pretty loaded question, that so far no one has been able to answer to everyone's satisfaction.

Perhaps we all have different meanings for life. We each play different roles, and have different viewpoints. Different thoughts, ideas, and opinions are part of what makes each of us so unique.

So then there is no single answer to the question "what is the meaning of life?", but many different answers for each individual.

What is your purpose, do you think? What role in the cosmic balance (so to speak) do you believe you play, if you know?

If you don't know or are not sure, what role do you think you would play best at?

I am a resource manager - I locate things, somtimes put them together in novel ways, and then redistribute them to other people . . . it is my job to keep files on what the best use of resources that I encounter may be and make sure they get distributed right . . .
Of course, I do discover things that I like to have in my collection - such as 1,900 beanie babies, but generally things are redistributed fairly quickly . . .

I would like to think that my life's purpose is to inspire people through the fiction I write.

That seems like a worthwhile quest. I think it would be a good life purpose to seek to change at least one other person's life for the better. Smile

Me too Smile Perhaps then that person would be able to help another as well. That reminds me of a part in the movie Pay It Forward, which was quite profound: the main character draws a diagram of how quickly a great number of people's lives could be changed if one person helped another and they in turn helped someone else. I like that idea.

Westminster Larger Catechism:

Question 1: What is the chief and highest end of man?

Answer: Man's chief and highest end is to glorify God, and fully to enjoy him forever.

That sums it up for me.

I don't believe in any destined "purpose"; however, I will fill a role in future. I suspect I will be an ideas person.
