This is my half-assed attempt to pose as a psych and diagnose the many characters on "The Simpsons" with mental disorders they could possibly have. Please add anything I've left out.

Bart Simpson - ADHD and possible oppositional defiant disorder.

Marge Simpson - Obsessive compulsive disorder and general anxiety disorder.

Lisa Simpson - Possible aspergers and/or general anxiety disorder.

Homer Simpson - Mild mental retardation.

Mr Burns - Narcissistic personality disorder.

Comic book guy - aspergers syndrome.

Nelson munz - Oppositional defiant disorder and/or anger management disorders.

Moe - Depression disorder.

Abe Simpson - Early stages of Altzeimers (sp).

Snake - Antisocial personality disorder.

Barney - Alcoholism (duh).

Maggie can't talk yet she's proven to be very intelligent in other areas so would this make her simply Autistic?

I've always thought Lisa and Comic Book Guy quite clearly have Aspergers-type personalities. (Off-topic for a moment; I suppose many of us would be aware of the fact that Comic Book Guy's real name is Jim Kirk. The character, that is, not the actor who does his voice.)

Marge Simpson - obsessive compulsive and general anxiety disorders? You've got to be joking, I know Marge is protective of her kids (as all mothers should be), and she keeps nagging them all the time, but that just means the only "mental disorder" Marge has is that she's a mother. Then again, being a parent might be enough to make anybody go crazy.

About Nelson, Dolph, Jimbo and Kearney; they are simply typical school bullies. Whatever psychological label you want to give them, bullies are just bullies, and probably very NT, too. I'd say a similar thing about Snake - if every gun-wielding criminal in the world has antisocial personality disorder, then he fits the bill.

I think this is a very amusing topic, by the way. There are countless sitcom characters you could diagnose as having AS by examining their character traits. And I definitely agree with the idea of Bart having ADHD.

bart's ADHD has been hinted to in the series.

marge is obsessive compulsive indeed. disorder, i dunno. i think most mothers are pretty compulsive.

homer: some unknown mental retardation fluctuating from mild to severe. sometimes he stands, and just stares into the air. sometimes he will drool over non-edible concepts.

lisa: i dont think lisa is an aspie, she is very politically active whenever she has the chance, you gotta be socially inclined for that. i could be corrected by people here tho, i dunno..

Lisa is seen as a nerd or geek by her school classmates, and her social skills are not great, but plenty of neurotypical kids can't socialise well anyway. And having Aspergers does not automatically mean you have poor social skills. Because the condition affects different people in different ways, some Aspies can be outgoing and socially active.

You don't always have to be socially inclined to take part in politics. Lisa only becomes politically active when she gets obsessive thoughts into her head about something, and won't rest until it is looked into or sorted, no matter how much social skills she has or has not. Isn't that an Aspie symptom, being socially impaired but suddenly not caring how socially impaired you are when the opportunity to pursue an obsession comes up?

That is me, anyway. I'm really obsessed with bus-drivers, and when I have the opportunity to talk to one or spend time with one or anything like that, my social anxieties suddenly go away, and I become a completely different me. That is how strictly important my obsessions are to me.

Lisa is likelly not asperger. She's profoundly gifted, which is why she can't integrate socially, (More so in Springfield  ) is geeky and interested in politic.
