Last I heard, all the serious people in the scientific community agree that it's caused by human activities.

Both. It's caused by humans and natural events.

Almost - I will say it is human activity increased by natural events.

Humans have disrupted the global natural climatic variation cycle and created an entirely different projection that will result in increased temperatures and extreme weather conditions due to the atmosphere's attempt to restabilize itself.

It's projected to be a mostly man made problem, though there is evidence that it is partially a natural occurrence that happens every once in a great while. And as WaterWater says, the earth is trying to stabilize itself, which is also causing climate change

Wait a minute, how many people on here believe that global warming even exists? I think it is enviromental hype.

Global warming was started by Al Gore to help sell his movie.

Carbon dioxide has a mode of vibration with frequency equal to that of infrared radiation. When a photon in the infrared part of the electromagnetic spectrum strikes a CO2 molecule that mode of vibration gets activated. The energy of the photon is converted into the thermal energy of the CO2 molecule.

Fluctuations in solar energy. This is the same reason why in the 70's scientists and the media were crying out about how global cooing would cause a new ice age. This has been fairly neatly sweeped out of public view and blamed on CO2, which is BS.

Definitelt human activity, regardless of what the conspiracy theorists say.

Well of course there are some natural events that contribute to the cause - the planet is always changing, and slowly but surely it becomes dangerous.

Humans have really sped up the process though... alarmingly so. Makes one feel uncomfortable about what the world will be like in say 20 years time. How much will temperatures have risen? Will there be dangerous storms where previously there weren't any? Will there be even more epic, dangerous storms in places where they already have more than enough to deal with?

No part of the world is safe from harm should the process of global warming continue at such an alarming rate - that's my opinion.

No one can tell the future though...

I've noticed that many people who don't believe global warming also disbelieve evolution.

Some journalism

Solar Cycles
But I shouldn't really show you this, ruins the illusion for you. Science has a horrible way of doing that.
