I'm a fan of speed runs and wouldn't mind knowing some of your best times. I'll start.

Legend of Zelda Link to the Past: 3 hours 58 minutes.

Super Metroid: 2 hours 6 minutes with a 48% item collection rate.

I don't do speed runs, but once I saw a video of a guy doing Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in no more than two and a half hours. It was crazy! I still don't know how he did some of those tricks, like diving into the fishing pond and coming out with a Hylian Loach 5 seconds later.

I would say either really really good luck or Gameshark. However, Oot is chock full of glitches so that's always a possibility too. If it was a speed run though, what was he doing at the fishing pond? That's very optional from what I remember. Unless, do you need the Golden Scale to beat the game? I can't remember...

I don't do speed runs either... but this might be relevant to your interests.

I wouldn't doubt it. Early versions of Metroid Prime have a section of level where you can do a glitch jump right over a wall and go straight to Ridley, or something like that...it's been a while, I just remember it being super ridiculous.

There is a video of Half Life being completed in 30 minutes plus intro. But I notice that this must be modified as the usual load screens aren't in place, the length of the jumps are extreme.
, especially in the blast pit area

I used to speedrun Metroid: Zero Mission for fun. My record is 56 minutes on normal with only the necessary items taken.

Me and a Friend speed ran Resident Evil 5 since there's a leaderboard. We haven't glitched so we aren't the best in the world =(
I was the best in my country for a while though =)

Legend of Zelda: Link's awakening in about 10 minutes. Thats all I've ever been able to speedrun, and then it uses the map warp glitch.

Edit: Not my speedrun, but this uses the same glitch

He was getting it so he could skip the Silver Scale, which is required to beat the game.

How fast did you manage to beat it? My speed run took me 2:45 not counting load screens and such... just going by the game time that it adds up for you. Probably could have done it a little faster if my roommate was helping me but he was sleeping and I wanted the infinite ammo rocket launcher.

1:37 fo sho!
To get a better time you definatley need a partner. Sheva tries her hardest bless her, but she really can't speedrun well.

Yeah, the partner AI was my biggest gripe with the game. I have to admit that's a pretty impressive time. I'm not so sure I could come close even with my roommate helping me. I imagine I could probably get it down to about 2:00, but 1:37 is just madness! lol. Props to you.
