Dear Albirea, First, great idea for a poll!
I type traditionally when I have a keyboard, but on my iPad I hunt and peck.

This is a great idea for a poll, considering most of the people (even adults) that I know type with by just poking the keyboard. I used to do that but in elementary school my handwriting was so bad that I eventually learned the traditional way and did my work by typing. |

I type traditionally as well. Poking is very silly imo. |

thumbs: space only
left:
index finger: c f r t v
middle finger: a c d e q s x z
ring finger: w, caps lock
pinky: Shift
right:
index finger: h b g j n u y
middle finger: i h k m o, backspace
ring finger: l p
pinky: Shift, Enter
That's when typing the alphabet, it just depends on the words I'm typing. _________________ ADD :: yay for neurodiversity

| I type the typical way - I'm kinda old so I learned on an electric typewriter in high school. But, I'm dyslexic so I rely on spell check to fix most stuff. It's weird 'cause I know how to spell but it doesn't translate to writing or talking correctly. I got a A in writing all the time - after spell check came along. :) |

| I look at the keyboard, I can never memorize the keys but I use both hands and I'm still a pretty fast typer. |

I have the keys' positions in my muscle memory. I don't type the 'traditional way', I use whatever finger is closest to the key I need. I use all my fingers, also.
Means that I mostly type the keys on the left with my left hand and the ones on the right with the right one, but it can vary a little.
I usually use either of my thumbs for space and my left little finger for shift. Enter most often with my right little finger and backspace with my ring finger. |

Using both hands, albeit not in proper form... My typing style looks awkward, but I type fast.
(edit: Actually, now that I read Luci's post above, that kind of sums up mine as well.) |

I tend to use both pointer fingers for typing. I memorized the letter order and rows but never could quite remember if little finger is on letter"A"then second finger is on "S" and so on. I have to actually see what letter I am pressing. It also feels wrong to use my second finger to reach below to type in the "X" Probably is some type of Sensory Integration Issue and I also have an involuntary tremor in my right hand that makes fine motor skills touchy! No Pun/ Yes pun intended !

| Assuming the 'traditional' way is with your hands centered in the middle, I don't do that. Tried once - having to think about where my fingers were messed me up. I use mainly the pointer finger and middle finger of both hands, with my left hand resting on the keyboard and my right hand moving more. Hit the space bar with my right pointer finger and the shift key with my left ring finger. Sometimes I look at the keyboard and sometimes I rely on muscle memory. |

| I usually tend to type most of my stuff with both index fingers and hit those further away keys with my ring finger or pinky. |
