Does anyone bite nails?
Any advice on how to stop forever?
I find that all that works for my female (NT) friends doesn't work for me. Aren't there autism-friendly ways to stop nail biting?
1. Patches drive me mad from the sensory input. I can't very well put them on all my fingers.
2. I tried to paint my nails with chemical anti-nail biting substances already. I wasn't very impressed by the horrible taste. I can eat anything, really... On top of that, the substance ended up all over my hands, on my face and on my food so I stopped using it. |

I bite my nails a lot, and nothing's worked for me so I can't help you there. _________________ "How about a shave?"

| I'd suggest cutting your nails the second you feel like biting them or catch yourself biting them. If there are no nails to bite, you wont bite them. |

| The trouble is, they don't have the chance to grow beyond the nail bed even. |

I bite my nails a lot and it feels good!
Try chili powder on your fingernails. _________________ It's time to introduce a little anarchy. |

| I agree with SilverProteus. The longest I have managed to go without chewing my nails was 2 months and then it became a feeding frenzy! When I was younger my parents tried the paint, tried wrapping my hands and tried making me wear gloves ...all to no avail as I chewed through the lot. I have now become a little self conscious of them, so I'm thinking of hypnotherapy as an option. |
