what was wrong with the crusades?
and historical research has shown the inquisiton to a superior justice system especially compared to the secular justice systems of the time
actually the church has stands for an intelligent design concept
as for things like opposition to the death penalty, alot of bad stuff like that got into the church with vatican 2 |

I think all this talk of "cookies" has been about Communion wafer. Though the Host is sacred, its role in Catholic worship is not that of an idol. This is all part of the Eucharist, a sacrament. To say Catholics worship cookies is like saying Jews use the blood of Christian children to leaven their matzo bread. It's ridiculous and offensive. Instead of reading Jack Chick, in whom you seem to have unshakable faith, why don't you visit a Catholic parish and have one of the priests explain this to you?
Does Jack Chick hold office in the Vatican? Get outta here. |

You have that backwards. California receives ~ $0.78 in federal aid for every $1.00 it pays in taxes. |
Sorry, included federal loopholes and programs exploited by California-based corporations, which is where a lot of the money is being shipped. In the context it was cited, your figure is more pertinent. Cheerfully withdrawn, point was that U.S. taxpayers aren't bailing out California for a few million in aid to non-citizens. _________________ q/p |

Sort of, but not entirely as you say.Yes, the Crusades were in response to Islamic expansion, but weren't completely defensive either. And then there is the issue where the Crusaders sacked Constantinople during the Fourth Crusade. Those weren't Muslims in that city.

Rape, pillaging, and wanton murder are intuitively wrong to all but the most depraved individuals. That said, the Crusaders were no worse than other armies at the time, and their leaders at least had (relatively) noble intentions. _________________ WAR IS PEACE

No, it's not. Try telling that to an ID proponent. The two ideas are not at all the same. _________________ WAR IS PEACE

the idea of individual rights didnt begin until after the wars between catholics and protestants after wich a catholic priest wanted to stop the bloodshed and realized their were certain rights everyone had to respect. |

No, but most people are able to figure out at least the basics on their own. And Christianity certainly would seem to look down on many of their actions. This wasn't the dawn of human society, civilization had been around for some time and at least the basics of moral behavior had been figured out by then. _________________ WAR IS PEACE

The Eucharist is otherwise known as Holy Communion or the Body of Christ. You know, it's when all the Catholics do our cookie-worshipping. |
