Found a capture of the Mass Effect moment I cited earlier (although he chose a slightly different line for the ending...):

Xion's death in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days, it tops Aeris' death by far, I can't remember being this saddened in a long time, I thought Xion and Roxas looks like a great couple, I can't believe it, although I knew something would happen to her eventually.

1. Final Fantasy 4, when Anna died.
2. Final Fantasy 7, when Aeris died and was laid to rest. I too had a good long cry about that. I couldn't play the game for two whole days because I was mortified. =[
3. Final Fantasy 9, when Zidane and Garnet are reunited.
4. Twilight Princess, when Midna returns home to her world through the Twilight Portal.
5. Final Fantasy 3, listening to the theme of The Invincible. It is filled with nobility, yet it has aural beauty in it's own right.

It's good to know that someone else cries over events in video games as well! Now I don't feel like such a loon. ^^;

i forgot one

in drakengard 2 when caim and angelus die, even though i hadn't seen drakengard 1 and i knew nothing about them it was still sad.

in fact i was actually having a hard time with that fight because of what legna was saying the whole time about her wanting to be out of her misery.

1. Gears of War 2, when Dom is forced to euthanize his wife.
2. At the end of Call of Duty 4, when the Russians come to save you, but can't save your captain. (RIP Cpt. Price.)
3. When Sgt. Johnson died in Halo 3. ("Send me out... with a bang...")
4. At the end of Final Fantasy X when Yuna runs through Tidus because he's become a ghost.

Maybe not the kind you cry over, but it does have that depressing dramatic shock that gives you goosebumps at least.

I guess you could say I cry at the end of every Final Fantasy game, mainly because they are over but also because the endings are so perfect. The ending theme that plays during the credits is worthy of an orchestration, bringing all the other in-game themes together and making a perfect conclusion... I love it.

In GTA IV, when Katie got killed during Roman's wedding. I felt sorry for Niko, because he might've actually loved her! Sad

Wow...this thread is one year old now, and it STILL gets responses?

Heh, once in a while, I do *something* right. ^_^

And to keep this valid, yes, I have a recent moment from a video game I've played which got me teary-eyed. It's the opening cinematic of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

Initially it didn't have an effect on me, but the 7th time I sat through this intro, I finally took to time to seriously listen to the words spoken by Old Snake, and they...they really got to me. And as for the carnage that takes place in the middle of and after his internal soliloquy, it makes what Meryl said in the first MGS game so true:

"War is ugly. There's nothing glamorous about it."

Nothing else needs to be said.

I'm glad somebody else is touched by the beginning of MGS4.
I took several viewings before it hit me, but once it did it made me get a little teary-eyed ^^;

I guess no one has EVER felt sad looking at the "Game Over" screen? <.< (Or The End too, that works)

That scene is abotu 100 times better if you have a female character that looks like sigorney weaver... trust me, I discovered that by accident on my first playthrough...

Ripley: [referring to the doll] Look, no bad dreams there.
Newt: Ripley, she doesn't have bad dreams because she's just a piece of plastic.
