I'm 18 and I still live with my parents but I wish I had my own place but right now, I don't seem to have the money and I wish for and my girlfriend to live together and get married and live happily ever after. _________________ My Poetry: http://poetryimpact.blogspot.com

Under 18 and live with parents. I can't wait to live on my own, as soon as I have enough money I'm out of there. But I don't know how long it's going to take and I'm sh** scared of being independent and paying my own bills and getting up every morning to go to work. _________________ The butterfly, the tiger, just another shadow in the stone

| Why does it seem both scary and comforting that my vote was for the option that currently has the most votes? I'm 20 and live with my parents. |

| I'm 26 and I still live with my parents. I have no job right now so there is no way I can afford to live on my own. When my girlfriend does not have her kids I stay with her which is about half of the times. I hate living with my parents. Its embarrassing telling someone you live with your parents still. |

I'm over 18 years of age and I live with my three cats in a very small one bedroom apartment.

20 and I live in an assisted living program (my own apartment with an ASD roommate) I don't think I need-- its just that my parents are paying my bills so I don't have much choice. They think that I'm completely incapable which is somewhat depressing. |

Lived at home until aged 21, then lived in 10 different flatshares over the next 10 years in a different city [and hated always having to move].
I then lived back at home for a very short time before getting my own place aged 31 [13 years in August on my own and surviving well] _________________ “Been there, done that, worn the t-shirt"

CosmicRuss, I found MYSELF, age 46. Fantastic feeling isn't it to now know why things had been so messed up? I never liked myself until I learned it was Asperger's. I so wish it could have been many years earlier, but some people never find themselves at all, so I am very fortunate.
On topic: My life milestones were all delayed and I lived with my parents on and off until I was almost 21 and after that I lived either with someone else or very close to family. I never lived completely independently until just this year. I have a whole house to myself; my closest friend lives thirty miles away and I have no family in the whole state! |

Yes, it is a fantastic feeling and we can stop beating ourselves up hopefully. I am grateful I managed to watch some great documentaries concerning ASD which really opened my eyes and gave me comfort. _________________ “Been there, done that, worn the t-shirt"
