I have to amend my earlier statement after reading the posts behind mine. For some reason I forgot about my lengthy walks in the park. As others have said, it's very soothing and helps me organise my thoughts.

I am comparable to what you said except I workout at a gym that is close to my house and open 24-7, so I can go when there isn't many people 2-3 times a week. I also have several nice cars I can drive so staying at home isn't out of convenience.

The gym gets me out of the house too but there are days that I don't actually leave my house, not even into my garden, despite having a really beautiful garden.

I don't ever sit down to make a conscious effort NOT to go out, it's just that I don't really make much effort TO go out.

I work 40 hours a week so I have to leave but I don't like to go anywhere on the weekend. I live in the city, near a park but I never walk out there because there are too many people. When I was a kid I used to voluntarily pull weeds in our yard because I do like being outside.

No offence taken here, I'd rather be ask that here than
anywhere else.

I edit video, I own my own little video studio
that I get a $20USD here or a $10 there, it does not
pay enough to live on but it is the only job that
I can do without boogering up the whole thing
and getting fired, don't worry, I won't fire myself,
I will just sit and beanhatch about it for a minute
or so, then correct whatever error was made and
do business as usual.

I also have to be on disability, for the above reason
and I tried other jobns but I stink at them so terribly
that I just get fired and I can't take care of myself
I guess, like growedups do, so I live with my brother
who takes good care of me, ie if I frogget to brush
ymy fur or ooops! skip a shower he remind me.

Jons that I wood be good at I am blocked from
because poopyface employers won't pull their
heads out of their butts to realise I'm a good
worker if they just let me be.

I have tantrums if peolple are mean to me so that
will get me fired, I have not found the controller
for this yet, so I am still disabled and I still need
a nap in the daytime so I can't work longer than
6 hours anyway unless I take a nap whci I can
do here at home.

I'll go with my mom on small errands to the store or something, but I don't leave that much - I really don't have anywhere to go.

I used to never leave the house. I have gone months without going anywhere except my porch to get the mail. I miss that... Now I have to leave to go to classes... next semester I will be out two days a week, three hours each day. While I am excited about school and love to learn, it can be very overwhelming to me sometimes. I missed four classes last semester because I just could not make myself functional enough to go... but still I try. I also make sure I go to the grocery store once every two weeks now as well as once a month going someplace out of the house with my husband. I also put in a garden, so during the spring/summer months I am out in my backyard every day. I have worked before, but I do not do well when I work. My husband was ok with me quitting my last job to stay home, so I did and he pays the bills now. I would be find never leaving the house, but it bothers my husband, so I make an effort for his benefit.

My husband works. I'm not working right now once again so I am on the waiting list. Hopefully it be another week. We are both taking it as a mini vacation for me.

i go through phases of hibernation. but i do go out for walks early in the morning before people are up and about. that suits me.
I will go out to the shops and the supermarket as part of my routined little life.

I leave the house to go to school, but other than that I'm the same as the OP.

I go out with family on the weekends sometimes, but the last time (and first time) I went out with friends on my own was April 2007.

My mum tells me I have no friends just because I don't talk to them outside of school, but I don't agree; just because I only talk to them in school, it dosen't make them any less of a friend.

Except for obligations like buying foods I rarely get out of my home. There's a huge world ou there, but this world suck. I'm much more comfortable in my home.

Ah yes, that's the dream. If only there was a way to do that without being a leech to society, I'd jump at the opportunity. As would many, I imagine.
I agree. I wish I could settle down and be a total hermit. School is a major source of overload for me, and I half regret joining Toastmasters just because I always have to put lost of effort into doing something outside of my special interests. Oh well... After all, life is not always about pleasure and fun.

I'm looking forward to the holidays because at least then, hopefully, I won't be forced to go out. It'll be the perfect holiday for me... Alone, with no human contact, just me and my special interests.

My son and I went to a play today, compliments of my mother. I wasn't into going but I knew it would make her happy. Anyway, just two hours in that small community theatre had my teeth on edge. After that we went to my mother's to decorate her Christmas tree and I found I couldn't think straight and I felt out of sorts. I think crowds, even relatively small ones, wear me out. I'm glad to be back in the cocoon.

I'll do a few things like going to a FNM tournament, groceries, work (albeit part time due to some flub ups), or go with one or both my parents somewhere, and take our dog on a walk, but im pretty sedentary otherwise. I avoid clubs/bars due to sensory issues (the tournaments can be as bad, but its easy for me to focus with the game), and i do what i can to keep panic/discomfort from setting in (ie i can drive, but i still dont like it . . . especially if im going somewhere for the first time).

Five years as a recluse. Was fine with it until lately. Woke up one day and wanted to get and do stuff

I often wish I had a huge house with lots of rooms that I never had to leave. I could just send someone out to do stuff for me. If there is such a thing as past lives (which I doubt), I must have been a rich recluse who had servants who did everything for me because that's so much how I want to live my life now. I lean toward that inclination. Stay in and have others do stuff for me, not that they want to, but, very reluctantly. I wish I could hand someone a list and have them do everything on it, go to the grocery store, call around and get someone when something needs repaired, answer calls, go to appointments as my representative.
I could spend all my time in my house with many rooms, decorating it and everything.
