I tend to get most of my good ideas creatively when I'm going to sleep, I note it down, and it always seems like crap when I wake up the next day, until I'm going back to sleep the next night and then I think it's brilliant again. :?

Yeah, that's basically the reason I'm up. If there was nothing else going on but my massive head of ideas I'd have been in bed a good couple of hours ago.

Yes definately late at night. During the day I find it much more difficult to write and when I do I am less pleased with what I write than with what I write at night. (No tongue twister intended)

It is so nice knowing that most other people are asleep.

I have just ordered the book Left in the Dark and will look forward to reading it. However, I believe it was eating meat that increased our brain size.

After a dry spell of over a month, I actually wrote something I think is worth while last night/early this morning! :D

Yeah it seems like the more tired I am, the more I can write awesome stories. Well I think they're awesome, they probably suck.

Not for me. After 10 pm I'm basically a zombie. I do my best work around mid-morning.

I've started recording music at home and find myself up to about five o'clock doing it.

I find all of my creativity comes at mostly night time and sometimes in the morning too .It happens especially very late at night and when I listen to music for very long periods of time. Repetive music often puts me in what I call my 'zen' state where I have a clear head and focused mood, which helps many of my great ideas come through

Its typical that you will be more creative as night as I am because its not only quiet but its your body's internal clock telling your brain you should be sleeping so the part of your brain that has all these weird and sometimes creative dreams starts up. its your REM sleep cycle it is possible for it to be active while your conscious which is why you have insomniacs that dont sleep for months at a time because their brain have the ability to go through a full REM cycle while they are awake

My best ideas always hit me at night, or when I'm drunk. I designed an algorithm to check the frequency of objects in a data set after 7 shots and a few pints. I also wrote a theorem describing how a point particle irradiates a sphere as a function of it's distance after a nagan. Strange

The late great Charles Bukowski did his best writing at night, drunk as a skunk.

Yep, same situation for me. How I write is to play one song on repeat that I feel exemplifies the mood I wanna create. Then I just sort of fall into the song.
