In diapers maybe... I even told him - "This band is fifteen years old. I was 20 when this song came out." He was unphased. Apparently I have crossed into the Michael Bolton age group or something... I'll need to look for the 'over forty' category on iTunes I suppose... |
White Zombie was around from 1985 to 1998. That guy had no business saying anything to you.
It's amazing what people will think just because of age - do they even know what kind of music was being played when people like us were their age? |

Interestingly enough - he wasn't rude or a smart ass about it. He was pretty confused and - shocked. Like I turned his vision of the way the world worked on its head. His parents might have been my age. What the HELL were those people listening to to get that reaction out of their kid?
I'm not sure it matters what we listened to at their age. I really do think that many of them just beleive that 'old people' just magically flip a switch and are suddenly only attracted to 'adult' things. Somehow - I'm very very glad I have NO IDEA what those things are! |

When I was in my early 20s and really getting into music, the person who introduced me to a lot of it was in her 40s.
I find it odd that people have preconceived notions about what kind of music adults listen to. |
