I would not believe anything Fox says. I suspect that there's something more to the story.

Also, I'm proud to announce that there is a protest against Wall Street going on in Spokane, taking place outside of the the Spokane Club. For the understanding of the rest of WP's membership, the Spokane Club is an exclusive club made up of some of the city's wealthiest citizens. Not many years ago, they had wanted to tear down the Fox Theater, which is a historical landmark - in order to build a parking lot for their own personal use! My Grandfather had been part of a work crew that had built the Fox, dammit! Luckily, the Spokane Club's evil plans had been thwarted.
If we didn't have a child of school age to attend to, my wife and I would be joining these conscientious Americans in their protest.

Well, actually you should believe Fox News on this because the same CEO being interviewed had testified before congress earlier that day. So unless you're saying the man committed perjury, the Fox News interview is legit.

Plenty of people lie while giving testimony before congress. Remember how the tobacco executives all said under oath that they didn't believe their product caused cancer?

The tobacco executives had motive to lie to cover their behinds.

This CEO wouldn't have any real motive to lie about something like this.

You don't consider political philosophy to be motive? I suspect this CEO, like a great many businessmen, are hardline, conservative political zealots.

Are you ready?

No, if you paid attention to Star Trek, contact with the Vulcans occurred after World War III.

Obviously I meant the type of society, not sci fi stories...

But seriously, my news sources are legitimate, rather than a partisan means of bashing the President. Of every potential news story out there, the media has to pick and choose over what's relevant.

Sorry. As Inuyasha and I are more or less friendly rivals, our posted sparring can get rather extended.
As you doubtlessly know, they bury us Aspies with our heads above ground because our skulls are harder than headstones. Hence, we can probably argue back and forth till the stars burn out.

This Wall Street protest seems to be frustration of the increase in haves and have-nots. The middle class is disappearing. 1 in 4 children are now live in poverty. The class structure is not as fluid as it used to be. It is harder to move up in class with hard work and determination.

Hard working people have opportunities closed on them. So, Fnord, it is not enough to say "they need to create their own jobs". In an economy where people are not buying anything, your small business is destined to fail. And, when people need money now because they need food now, it is very hard to think of an innovative idea. Some people can but the majority of people cannot.

Poverty is getting harder and harder to escape from. That's not the American dream. You cannot have a person work an $8 an hour job with no opportunity to advance and expect them to be content.

Here's the bottom line: Oil costs are going up. Wages are not. This is the main reason we are not going to recover. And the new leaders in the Arab world won't be so happy to sell it to us so cheap. Our economy and infrastructure as a country is built upon the assumption that we have affordable amounts of oil. When the oil get so expensive, our infrastructure will collapse.

Then people will roll their eyes at how stupid it was to depend so heavily on a certain commodity and concentrate on being self-sustaining.

Cities will be torn down. People will concentrate on being more localized and responsible with resources. The resources will be heavily calculated and recycled. Oh, and they won't accept dollars anymore. Heck, they might not accept any type of money. So, for the wealthy, what is your money going to be worth when people refuse it?

You cannot make people so frustrated and place the blame on "because their lazy" or "the best can only get high paying jobs". Did you know not everyone can be the best? So where does that leave the rest of those who are not the best? I tell you, it leaves them pissed. They might come from an area or a background where they are not aware they can be business owners.

This comes from a person who has been successful so far in finding multiple jobs. Not everyone can be successful. That's the sad thing.
