I had read something that Jim Parsons said about Sheldon and AS.

He said that the character could not have anymore AS traits, and the creators of the show did not intentionally make Sheldon with AS when them made the show. But thats how he turned out/

Parsons also said that the producers were thinking about doing an episode where Sheldon does get diagnosed with AS to explain how he is. But then they pulled the idea because since its a sitcom. The characters take jabs at each other. The producers did not want it to seem like they were making fun of Sheldon for something he has no control over.

Sheldon gets his jabs in too. Sheldon may not know it, but he does.

I think it's pretty much common knowledge by now that Sheldon is an Aspie.
I'm grateful that they're going to avoid Sheldon getting an official diagnosis, as the subject would probably prove to be difficult to handle - especially if they decided to turn the show serious for such an episode. I hate it when comedies try to be dramas, like MASH and Roseanne would do.
