| I am female and I get along with some females and some males. Probably a higher percentage of males than females but not by a significant amount, I feel a bit more self-conscious around females ironically, not sure why but I think it's because there might be some implicit expectation that I have more things in common with others of my gender. |

| I get along a bit better with men and I'm a female. With women, its not that I have a problem with the social chit chat but there seems to be something missing when merging that bond with other females. Other females seem to have this emotional bond that I rarely have, meanwhile guys often dont. Though depending on the social group sometimes the gossip, small talk, the lacking purpose and substance in female conversations really gets to me. Otherwise, women often times tend to have this thing against me because I can appear rather antisocial like I'm snubbing them when most of the time I'm not. |

I'm a man, and I get along much better with women. I have some trouble with boundaries and I am afraid that a close male friendship could be seen as more than a friendship. A close female friendship is more likely to be seen as close, but is less likely to result in social catastrophe [for me]. _________________ Standing on the Fifth Dimension. |

I'm a female who seems to have a ton of male friends. They tend to be more direct and honest, whereas some women tend to skirt around things and gossip behind each other's backs. It's mainly a trust issue, but also one of shyness/avoidance. The downside to this is that apart from my female best friend, I have little to no sense of how close female friendships are supposed to operate. All of the other women in my life have female friends who are closer to them, and since I don't get how to "work my way up" into their inner circles of friendship, I am always the one left out. |
