I guess that's your belief...or do you not believe that I am correct and that is your non-position Cool Laughing

Anything else to add to this useful little sermon of yours or are you done spewing nonsense?

Yeah, you should ditch the irrational thought. Cool

If you really do believe in your non-position.

I recommend you follow your own advice. Or better yet, actually learn a thing or two about something before deciding to tell people actually involved in it what they "really" believe. Your entire argument is basically pigeon holing atheism, I have seen nothing rational from you

In my OP, I asked why do some atheists consider their disbelief not a belief. Are you saying that I'm wrong? That isn't pigeon holing. I'm sure there are atheists that will claim belief in the nonexistence of God is their belief.

I can't wrap my head around why some atheists will say that, unless they want to fancy themselves as having superior thought, perched on a imaginary cloud above theists.

Do you assume atheists wake up every morning and think about how they do not believe in God/s? Or do they act in certain ways because they do not believe in God/s? I consider the question of God/s intellectually irrelevant and meaningless.
I'm sure you do not believe in Zeus or Poseidon- does your non belief in them define your worldview?

It pretty much is pointless to argue with faith, faith does not require evidence or a logical progression of events to achieve

Nope, I don't think all atheists are obsessed with their beliefs. But they do consider them from time to time, because atheists do leave the bandwagon to become some sort of theist.

I'd say they are less likely to go to church.

Question

Quote:
I consider the question of God/s intellectually irrelevant and meaningless.

So what? It's still your belief, sorry.

I don't know. I don't know what it's like living in a world that is devoid of the notion of Zeus or Posedion.

So your objective is to be like them? Sounds like an emotional plea more than anything. It's not very rational.

How so?

I'd say they are less likely to go to church.

Question

Lots of people who believe in God/s do not go to church. Likewise some atheists go to church. Is there a code of behavior for being an atheist?

It is not something I consider a core part of my identity on any level. It is my opinion

This does not answer my question.

How do you get that?

They don't feel atheism complements their life any longer so they feel they need to shed the belief for something else.

But I'd say being a theist increases your chances of stepping into a church. Do you think there is no difference what so ever?

And just like your belief, your opinion can potential change. You say it like atheism is a part of your core of who you are. How did that become so?

It's a sliver of it, I guess. I can't say that the concept of them had no gravity on my life at all. In that case, they might have well not existed, but of course they do.

Quote:

Do you believe that not believing in God constitutes as a lack of belief, meaning that even the belief that God doesn't exist doesn't count as a belief?
