Curious.
I was thinking, it'd seem I could probably make a similar chart just with the faces of 50 randomly-chosen women from all the states

I think those are morph images. A large number of faces blended together to create a single face with average features. That's why the hair and background appears so blurred. But it's hard to tell if they used a sample group of 5 or 500 people for each image. My guess is closer to 5, and I think the creator used a biased selection of attractive women within a certain age group and with stereotypically ethnic features.

I mean, it's clear to see that all women used for the Swiss and German morph images were blond. In reality, only about 20% of all German people have light-to-medium blond hair (source), so a statistically relevant selection of photos should lead to dark brown hair when morphed together. But the selection bias is even more apparent in the South African image. Last time I checked, there were still some black people living in South Africa Smile

Kinda funny how Wolfheart could guess that so quick by just looking at your avi.

Also just to point out, if you have travelled to various countries, you can usually tell how people differ in nationality by their facial structure. There may not be a great difference in some nationalities but there is enough difference to be able to discern which country they are from.

Yes Smile I hope you can post it here when it is complete.

Btw, http://www.morphthing.com/ is really fun to play around with. I've spent hours morphing the faces of celebrities together, and the end result was always prettier than the source images. That is, unless you throw a photo of Gollum or Michele Bachmann into the mix Very Happy

There are a zillion countries missing on that list, in case you didn't know. They didn't even include my country.

It looks like I was wrong. If you morph Bachmann and Gollum, the same principle applies: The result is slightly prettier and somewhat less creepy than either of the source images Laughing

Smeagol is actually the least horrible looking one out of all 3 surprisingly.

You look pretty, definitely. I suspect the asexuality has something to do with it--unless a guy is asexual himself, he will want some sexual "vibe" from you, and if you react to his sexual advances by being a "cold fish", that will turn him away quickly.

Interestingly, out of those morphs I especially like the Welsh, Swiss, German, Swedish, English, and Russian, roughly in decreasing order. My mom’s side of the family is Swiss, and my dad’s side is mostly Polish, with some sort of eastern European mixed in. So there’s only a very slight hint of bias toward some of my ancestral populations. There are also major differences between geographically close populations--for instance the Irish face looks MUCH less beautiful to me than the Welsh face, and even the English one.
