You know, he sort of looks more like Zeus than Yahweh/Jehovah... I never did trust Zeus - he is worse than most of my fellow-men, not to mention than nearly all women. Of the Greek goddesses, only Aphrodite is as bad, though Hera, Athena and Artemis have rather short tempers; sort of understandable in Hera's case; Hestia seems sort of nice, though her Roman counterpart Vesta demanded a harsh punishment for those of her priestesses who violated their vows. I sort of relate to Hephaistos a bit though. Is Mitch8817 sending up people's protestations? Honestly, Asperger's Syndrome, or the form I have, does not seem that bad (obviously I am not qualified to speak for all of the Autistic Spectrum). There are things that test my faith rather more...
Relax Aunubis, it's better than bubonic plague (the Black Death) not to mention than rivers turning to blood, boils, or the death of the first born. Actually the last is no jesting matter. I do not understand this part of Exodus. It is one of the passages that tempts one towards Marcionism. _________________ You are like children playing in the market-place saying, "We piped for you and you would not dance, we wailed a dirge for you and you would not weep." |

Paula,
Thank you for your kind, warm post. I too, am a Christian. I believe God made me different to teach me a compassion for His creatures. My viewpoints make me a distinct minority on this board. My faith and beliefs are very personal and a matter of the heart. |

Seeing as lots of religious people believe God "speaks to them", does he ever provide an apology or explanation as to why some people have to have asperger's, or any condition or disability?[/i] |
I don't need any apology or any explanations. I don't need anyone to blame, I don't need to feel sorry for myself either. Life is a challenge to everyone, I accept it as it is. There are people who suffer more than I ever have and who still hold on to their faith, my pain is nothing compared to theirs. Why should I complain about AS and lose my faith? At least I have food on my table, already that is a blessing, many people starve to death and nobody cares.
AS is sometimes a blessing, sometimes a curse. Life is difficult for everyone who don't see the big picture, they fail to recognise and appreciate those moments that make life worth living. I'm grateful for my life as it is and I thank God for every moment of happiness. _________________ Duuhhh... |

Shouldn't you thank your mother instead? It wasn't an imaginary god who brought you into the world. |

God brought everybody into the world, He is the source of life itself. Besides; who said I'm grateful only to God? |
