I used to have more Youtube videos about this stuff, but I removed them because I was embarrassed...
Here is a new one i just made, in which i attempt to talk about being an ADDer with alot of AS symptoms. _________________ http://artshouston.ning.com/profile/Oliviadvorak
Olivia, your childlike mannerisms, and inflection seem familiar to me, perhaps due to the very childlike manifestation itself; you don't scare me when you talk, like most adults do.
Does your voice stay the same, no matter the social and/or emotional context?
It'd actually be interesting for a speech pathologist to view the videos here, and see what they come up with in regards to intonation, inflection, etcetera; prosody. As apart from odd facial expressions, lacking nonverbal cues, verbal difficulties (pauses), etcetera, there's not much more one can go on.
Problems with intonation/inflection are common amongst those with Autism/Asperger's with adequate speech (it's usually worst in those with Autism, of course).

I would say that you are an aspie. If you are not, than I am not. I think what most people don't realize, is that we are all on the same spectrum, it extends to cover every type of mind state. All humans are on the same spectrum, just at different points. Otherwise, we would be a different species. _________________ Those who speak, don't know.

I still don't know whether I qualify as an aspie.
Does it matter?
I think I have ADD with mild AS, I'm also boarderline, my symptons are not as extreme as some.
Do you want to be an Aspie or something?
I'm happy diagnosing myself with not sure.
no I don't "want" to be an aspie...i just want closeure...and possibly an oppertunity for some kinda help since I have trouble getting/keeping a job.
Maybe I could get some vocational assistance...or something.....rather than blowing interview after interview for freezing up and acting weird...and whatnot. _________________ http://artshouston.ning.com/profile/Oliviadvorak

When I am excited my voice goes up an octave and I have a hard time controlling it's volume...and always..stammer stammer stammer.....repeat stammer stammer...
I was a little more relaxed there than I might be if I were talking to other people...I tense up..my voice goes high..I go up on my toes....I speak with even more of a baby voice... _________________ http://artshouston.ning.com/profile/Oliviadvorak
Hi Poopylungstuffing. I can relate to your voice. I usually get more high pitched when speaking to new people and have been told that I sound like I'm 16.
The thing about the logic arguement you suggested, well...it doesn't make sense to me that "some people are human" is really a logical statement. All people are human!
I think your thoughts were actually right on that matter.
Also, it seems people have done so many studies on males with aspergers that they've left out the females assuming that the males stereotypes should fit the males and the females.
To Mr. Bogan, that was a little mean to suggest she "wants to be an aspie" it comes across as though you think she's making it up.
When you go through your life feeling like you are surrounded by fog, everyone gets what is going on in an enviroment and you are the last to know, others treat you differently and you don't know why well wouldn't you like to know why?
Not all aspies are exactly the same. I'm not sure if you are aspie Poopylungstuffing but you do come across as somewhere on the spectrum.

^sorry I didn't mean to be mean.
I'm in the same boat as poopy, I believe I'm lower on the spectrum as well, I don't doubt her at all.
I've learned about AS, and I think I understand myself more, but I can't be bothered at the moment getting a proper diagnosis or anything because it wouldn't make any difference to me. I can't see how it will help me.
Poopy should probably get a formal diagnosis if she wants closure, otherwise she will probably be going around in circles trying to figure out if she is.

I think you did great on your video. With me, I tend to talk somewhat in a monotone and stumble onto words in a sentence.
As they in some places, I get very spaztic when I talk in front of a camera or a person. _________________ Oh you can't help that. We're all mad here.

I made this video with my brother for fun. My face isn't in it but I shot, edited and created the props. It's not so much a video of me but a video by me, my apologies if I am breaking the rules of this thread.
