I know it seems crazy, but then what was the Watergate scandal? Anyone who says that such conspiracies are not possible is delusional, and/or lying.

The Watergate scandal was because of Richard Nixon's paranoia and that of his administration. It was an entirely human conspiracy, and a small and petty one at that. And you see how quickly THAT collapsed....

The people behind it were also clumsy enough to get caught in the act. However, what were they really looking for? Possibly evidence linking the Republican party to sinister misdeeds?
The real players know how to be discrete and make a conspiracy look like a routine procedure or tragedy.
