| Four Minutes on DVD and I plan to watch it again on March 23, Roger Bannister's birthday. (Indication I have AS-I know when RGB's birthday is, and know his middle name-Gilbert.) |

I joined a mail order video store so I never need to step foot into a video store again!
So I have about three movies a week to watch. Most recent views:
Nacho Libre (blah!)
Taladega Nights (had its moments, but very few.)
MirrorMask (Neil Gaimen, author of Sandman Comics. Yummy to watch. Took me three views to get the plot as I was so enthralled with the visuals. Basically, a Fairytale.)
Clerks 2 (Crude but sometimes funny.)
American Pie: the Naked Mile ( I don't know how this got onto my que list, but it's truly awful. I didn't even finish it.)
The Illusionist (Highly Recommended!)
Idiocracy (had it's moments) |

Most recent movie seen: on DVD, "Operation Double 007", a James Bond knockoff from 1967 starring Neil Connery (Sean's younger brother) as a doctor who gets involved in a spy case, but also happens to be the younger brother of the UK's top spy... Pure cheese, lots of fun.
I have also joined a mail-order DVD rental place (CanFlix). This weekend, I have:
- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
- Click!
- Casino Royale _________________ "Some mornings it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps." -- Emo Philips |

| Saw Jacob's Ladder yesterday. Excellent movie that still has me thinking. 8/10 I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to see a horror/psychological thriller. |

Just saw 300. Strong emphasis on "based on the comic book" for the movie. It's really not my kind of movie, although I wouldn't say it was bad (it was actually fairly well made if a bit boring in the middle). I thought they were going to fudge with the facts (they did) but they hugely exaggerated certain details like making Xerxes absurdly tall and having some weird demon voice.
***/****. If you like weird ass blood filled comic books, you'll probably like it. If you want something that the Spartans themselves would have digged, this might be for you. If you are like me, ummm...not so much. _________________ Joey, do you like movies about gladiators? -Captain Oveur, in Airplane! |

Idiocracy - Freakin' great!!!!
300 - Ambitious, semi-accurate and flawed but still fun.
Jackass 2 - Oh my.
Brazil - Criterion Edition - Greatest Film of the 20th Century. Period.
Pirates of the Caribbean 2 - Bloated, nearly unwatchable. Had 2 1/2 movies crammed into one. _________________ life is short. art is long. opportunity is brief. experiment is dangerous. judgement is difficult.

Reign Over Me with Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle (also briefly Donald Sutherland which is also nice). Imperfect film. Of course, there is no such thing as a perfect film, still it worked (maybe just barely) for me. Juvenile jokes that weren't treated as jokes but as part of the plot were very awkward but I found oddly funny. They still shouldn't have been in a film like this. Story is okay-ish. Performance are generally good. Sandler was better then I expected in a dramatic role.
