-Return To Oz (1985)
The Disney-made sequel to the 1939 classic, but has a far different tone than the first film. The film is considerably more dark with more sinister obstacles standing in Dorothy's way. The visuals were pretty good for the time and I felt the grim mood actually made for a pretty interesting story. Still can't touch the original, but it really can stand as its own film since everyone's familiar with the story.

-Eyes Without A Face (1960)
This was a French horror film about a doctor who arranges to kidnap beautiful young women so he can surgically remove their faces. He does this with the hopes that he will be able to restore his daughter's own face, which has been horribly disfigured beyond recognition. Not a bad premise and a pretty good film if you're into old foreign horror films. Extra points for them not actually showing the daughter's injured face in order to play with the viewer's imagination.

I rented a copy of Cowboys & Aliens and watched it with my sister and my mom.

They loved it and want to see a sequel made.
Daniel Craig is now one of my mom's new imaginary BFs. Laughing

Secret Window - I remember catching the ending of this movie on TV awhile back, and I bought the DVD for my Johnny Depp collection. Tonight was the first time I had seen the movie in its entirety, and I have to say, I really enjoyed it. I really like Depp's character, Mort Rainey. He's more or less my current favorite Depp character that didn't have Tim Burton's influence. I think it's because he reminds me of myself in a few ways.

I watched The Waterboy last night. Pretty funny.

It was kinda like watching Happy Gilmore in a parallel universe or something, like it was all topsy turvy.

I just got finished watching Drive on DVD, again. I've decided that this movie is now one of my all time favorites - and just maybe my number one favorite.

I wasn't too impressed with this one. I have nothing against foreign films, but if they can't grab and hold my interest within the first 10 minutes or have a very interesting plot summary, I pretty much just lose interest in it.

I managed to get a bit farther, probably because I can sometimes forget the movie altogether and just focus on sets, costumes etc if they depict a different time or place authentically. This had both and I was still yawning - and I can handle slow movies, on top of that.

I know they tried in this one, but nothing about a young Che going on a road trip across South America sounds interesting to me.

Tried, I really don't think so, it does not seem to me that it should have been very difficult to put together a film about how this man became who he was.

Of course it is possible that the movie got really interesting around the middle or end, but with the pacing of the story in the beginning and the fact there was really only one character and no particular tension at all, it just wasn't possible to watch it long enough to find out.
