Iron Man's definitely the best Marvel film.

What is your opinion on Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, and The Avengers compared to the first Iron Man? (This question is open to anyone who has seen these)

Iron Man 2 was OK, but nothing on the first. I hated Thor and thought Cap America was stylish but a little thin and I haven't seen The Avengers, yet and plan on remedying that soon.

-The Russians Are Coming! The Russians Are Coming! (1966)
After a Soviet submarine gets stuck on a sandbar near a New England island town, a small landing party (led by Alan Arkin) sneaks onto the island to find a boat to free their sub. The problem is that once the town learns of their presense, mass hysteria breaks out as they mistakingly believe a full Soviet invasion has begun. Despite being dated, it's still a pretty amusing film with some good acting and a good story.

-Catfish (2010)
An independent filmmaker strikes an online relationship with the family of a talented 8-year old painter and an attractive older sister musician, for which he falls for. But when he and his crew discover that her songs supposedly recorded for him were ripped from YouTube videos of different people, he sets out to unravel the mystery behind this decieving relationship. The documentary is pretty straight forward, but it still teaches a timely and relevant lesson regarding how easily the truth in online relationships can be fabricated.

-Cashback (2006)
A British art student loses his ability to sleep after breaking up with his girlfriend. So he takes a night job working at a grocery store to help get his mind off her, which results in new opportunities for inspiration, friendship, and awkwardness. Not too bad for a low budget film.

I just got back from seeing The Dictator.

Sacha Baron Cohen IS indeed a genius of comedy, this movie was awesome!

-The Most Dangerous Game (1932)
A pretty basic adaptation of the famous short-story where a stranded hunter encounters a refined, yet bloodthirsty, contemporary who hunts men instead of animals. There are naturally some changes made, most notibly the hunted man tries to survive with the help of a woman (Fay Wray) instead of facing his opponent alone. A really short, yet enjoyable, film. Interesting to see a number of cast and crew members in this film who would go on to make King Kong one year later.

-Femme Fatale (2002)
A conning jewel thief (Rebecca Romijn) attempts to escape her dangerous past only to find it constantly coming back to hunt her down. Pretty straightforward plot, but the pacing of the film is really erratic. It picks up when the two leads (Romijn and Antonio Bandaras) have scenes together, but they are few and far between. Director Brian De Palma attempts to throw a big twist ending, but it just feels like a copout instead.

-The Long Good Friday (1980)
Bob Hoskins plays an organized crime leader attempting to uncover the motives behind a sudden string of bombings on his properties. Despite the cultural differences (it takes place in Britian) and the era differencial, it's still pretty good if you're into crime films. It also features Helen Mirren as Hoskins' mistress and it features a brief appearence by future 007 Pierce Brosnan.

-Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs (2009)
An eccentric scientist attempts to save his small town by inventing a machine to turn water into food, only to not have things go according to plan. I can certainly see why a lot of people on WP keep bringing this film up since the Aspie parallels are very clear in the story. As for the film itself, it's definitely enjoyable with some good voice acting. If you can get past some of the standard issue pratfall and kindergarden humor required of an animated film, it's worth a look.

Just watched Men in Black.

I almost had forgotten how much I love that film. One of the few that actually makes me laugh out loud.

Just watched Raise the Titanic, a 1980 movie. It was interesting for its theme, the part where the Titanic is sailed into New York is nice, but it's rather slow-paced, the plot was a mess and it was completely unconvincing.

Candyman - Very good horror movie, one of the only horror movies to actually give me anxiety. If you liked Hellraiser you'll like this too, which shouldn't be surprising considering that both movies are based on Clive Barker stories.

Just watched Red State finally and it was decent... I mean the acting wasn't very good but it was good for what it was which was a Kevin Smith movie. Although I wish that he went with his original planned ending because that would have been much better than the meh ending the film actually ended with.

I just got back from seeing The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

Although this is seemingly more for old folks, I had a good time watching this.
