I've skated on ice exactly once. I was able to stand by myself for about 1 or 2 seconds, total.
The next person has hiked to the top of a mountain.

Hm, not a large mountain, and not recently, but yes.
The next person wouldn't climb a mountain just "because it was there". |

Correct. I have hiked to the top of a few mountains, but it was because of the view, or exercise, or something that I wanted.
The next person has voluntarily explored caves.
