Those are probably the same reasons I'd want to be taller... I finally bought a stepstool last month so I can reach the high shelves in my kitchen.

I'm 5'5", which is supposedly average for a woman, but seatbelts never sit quite right on me and pants are always too long. My mom was 5'8", my dad is also 5'8", and I think my brother got all the tallness in my immediate family at right around 6 feet. Most of my female relatives on both sides of my family are probably slightly shorter than I am.

I've never knowingly met another adult Aspie in person (although I'm sure they're around!), so I can't really compare myself there.

I was supertall compared to other kids my age until I was 12, when all growth mysteriously ceased.
So I'm stuck at 5'4" (and a HALF!); but then, I'm not a professionally confirmed aspie.

Same with me. I was always taller until 12.

5'6"

Have been since I was 11 years old. I grew half a foot in the space of six months. It hurt.

I'd probably have grown taller in high school, I was told, except that I flirted with anorexia on and off.

I was 5'8 last I checked but it's been a number of years. I go to the chiropractor a lot, so I might be taller these days. Wink

5'5" but I was suppose to be taller, about 5'8" to 5'10" according to my peditricians. I was tall for my age until puberty. Thanks to a stressful and traumatic childhood, my growth slowed down after 11, and stopped altogether at 13.

My mom ws 5' 9" before she started shrinking frfom old age, and my brother's 6'. I hate being the short one in the family.

I've been 5'6" since I was ten. Now my classmates are catching up to me in height!

I'm still the shortest one in my family, though Sad My mom is 5'8", my older sister's 5'9", and my dad is 6'.

I shot up when I was 10 as well and remember it hurting a lot. I used to get stabbing pains in the back of my heels and needed physio to stretch them out. I couldn't touch my toes at all when I was a kid, but years of yoga / pilates stretching has really helped and I'm very flexible now. I've also had a few food issues over the years. Too much as a child, and then too little in my teens, but I eat well now I'm in my 30s and living in NZ.

I'm nearly 5 foot 3. I have a long torso, short waist. Like several other posters, I'm the runt in my family, with a mom who was over 5 foot 3 until she began shrinking (she's now 77 and about a half inch shorter than me), a Dad who was 5 foot 11, a brother who is 5 foot 9, and two sisters who are 5 foot 5 and 5 foot 6.

Sounds like me! Very Happy I'm almost at the 5'2" mark anyway. It gets tedious to say 5'1" and a fraction of...
