I do not have anything against hentai. First I think that drawn girls are always more beutiful than real girls. The same is with boys actually. For me it's less disturbing than real porn.

I agree with all of the above.

Oh yeah, as for "Narutards"... I used to be one back in junior high. Thankfully, I found a small group of boys who were also Narutards and we all became friends. So in a way I'm thankful that Naruto gave me a brief, but pleasant period of interaction with people my age. And even though I'm no longer obsessed with Naruto, I still like some of the characters.

Dude!
Hentai has all the tentacle stuff, that's creepier than real porn, I'm not saying real porn isn't creepy though.
I'd have to say, the only real long-running anime series I like currently is Bleach. I got tired of Inuyasha after this one filler episode. After that, I said it doesn't look like the plot is going anywhere.
As for my name, I just think the name sounds cool, and it has memories with it Smile

I've watched one episode, but really didn't hook me up. When I was 10 I watched the whole dragon ball thing, and I really didn't want anything similar. For me it was to similar to other fighting genres I watched as a kid such as ranma or dragon ball or innuyasha.

I realize that this anime is different than those but it was still to similar for my tastes.

My favorite animes are the ones that have the smell or originality all over. If I would pick a recent example death note comes to mind. Even though I haven't watched any episodes of the anime series I've read the whole manga and it's relatively original. And interesting, it's actually a crime- detective series I enjoyed other than detective conan as a kid.

Oh and by the way I stopped watching conan way before the ending. Can you tell me if he ragained his adult form?

I've personally never met an anime fan in real life, they're rare in my country. Even if I ocasionally meat anyone who watched a episode of anime it's generally slayers or dragon ball because those were popular here.

There are only a few non-japanese animes which have amazed me to such an extend as serial experiments lain, or paranoia agent did. I simply love that type. I've noticed such animes are becoming increasingly popular, I personally think that in the future they'll become even more popular because the general public will be bored with old storylines and recycled plots many shows and cartoons provide in the us and all over the world actually.

Umm, depends which type of porn you watch. I have a bid of obsession of finding stuff on the internet. While I never watched it. I would have no problem locating porn which is waaay creepier. And not all hentais have tentacles. I guess incest is creepier and more popular than tentacles, but it also is frequent in life-action porn.

And just like cartoon violence cartoon sex is considered "lighter". Even in those varner brothers cartoons you can frequently see scenes of heavy objects crushing characters. And no one is ever offended by it. Even movies like Princess mononoke had a pretty big amount of gore in them. And no one was offended. The reason is that cartoon violence will always be treated more lightly. Why not apply the same for cartoon sex? I think the movie "braindead" is far more disturbing than "elfen lied". Even though elfen lied is far more bloody than that gore film.

In conclusion I think real porn is way creepier simply because it's life-action which by definition has a more powerfull 'creep out" effect, as observed in gore movies vs gore anime movies etc.

Yeah. Personally, seeing sexual drawings doesn't bother me nearly as much as seeing real-life stuff, although there are certain hentai genres I tend to shy away from (*coughgurocough*).

Apparently they do sometimes on SBS.

Although, a lot of it was English dubbed at first.

English dubbed anime is generally BAD. Japanese is better.

Mind you, they may have converted to subtitles.

I can honestly say I've never heard of guro before until now. It's strange I never saw it in hentai, I mean it would have to be zombie-themed (or something like that) for it to work. I personally haven never even seen anything like that( Just checked it out on wikipedia( to see what guro is) )

It's not like I'm bothered by sexual drawings in general or violence. In fact, most of what I generally expect in entertainment is some sex and some violence. Its all human nature, so I figure, why fight it?
But there is a limit however and guro crosses that line Mad
Its like an overdose basically

Heh, I don't like most anime but I often get along with anime fans quite well for some reason.

Mega bummer. I'll be back in New Zealand by then. Besides, my parents don't have digital. And besides that, it's probably English dub if it's on the ABC, which SUCKS.

Theres some anime I like but don't really consider myself an anime fan as most of it is trash. Akira is also the most overrated film in the history of film in any genre. Pure nonsensical garbage that I swear people only like because of 'Hey, look at the cool motorcycle!'.

As far as anime I do like, Trigun and Samurai Champloo are about the only shows I liked enough to watch the majority of them when they were running on Adult Swim. Full Metal Alchemist isn't bad, and I can watch Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex without wanting to stab my eyes out with a rusty spoon, and I might actually like it if I watched the movies and knew what was going on.

But they show so much garbage on AS too. Inuyasha, Bleach, Blood+, Eureka 7, Evangelion, Death Note. Can't stand them, and I'm probably forgetting a few that were so bad my mind is blocking their memory from resurfacing.

I am a fan of many of the shows you mention disliking, but I'm with you on Akira. When that film was over, I turned to my sister and said, "I can only hope that a great deal was lost in translation." I don't get the hype around it at all.

While I love anime, I don't understand the people who collect hundreds of different DVDs and manga. I only collect the series that interest me the most, and I find it next to impossible to watch/read anything else. When I get tired of a series, I just swap out the DVDs/manga for the new series I'm interested in. Anybody else like this?
