Howdy I'm Michelle. My age is 21 and I'm currently living in Arizona, but was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I'll be moving to the UK either sometime this or next year to live with my fiance ^0^ He's also a member of this board, his nick is Sam4. We both have AS and have just recently come to find out we both have it together. I really love movies, music, art, cats and the internet. I'm pretty shy and have trouble figuring out how to approach strangers and therefore never know how to make friends, outside of the internet really. I'm hoping to be able to start some college courses on web and graphic design so I can start my own freelance web/graphic design website. Nice to meet you all =^.^=

Hi, I'm Pieter, 23
I live in Belgium, I recently found out I have AS. I don't have lots of friends, well hoping to make some more.
Hobbies: doing little creative projects like making little movies (alone or with people I know), I play guitar (I have only been for playing 1 month, so I don't sound like a rockstar yet), I like lots of other things too.
I like watching good movies (favorites are Fight Club, La Meglio Gioventu, Amelie Poulain), I listen to music all the time (rock, blues, classic, at this moment I am really into Pearl Jam), traveling, art and I love everything about Italy (speak Italian).
If you have similar interests (or none), just send me a message or AIM to: jivanand

I just posted in the singles thread a little while ago. I didn't see this friendship thread at first. I'm feeling a little lazy, so I'll just cut and paste what I wrote over there Smile :

I guess that's all the important stuff.

I get a bunch of jumbled up thoughts in my head, so here's some random crap: I like turtles. I started liking them last year. I was in class and I was thinking of the letter T. So I was like "T......TURTLE." All of a sudden I wanted one and that is the story of how I became interested in turtles. I'm in college but I really have no idea what I'm doing there. I've never had a job, but hopefully one day soon....I have a fish. I don't like fish much anymore. I've considered putting it in the tank with turtle to see if he would eat it but that seems kind of cruel since I've kind of started to bond with this fish.

I'm pretty open-minded.
I try not to judge.
I'm the nicest, sweetest person I've ever met.
I like guys.
I like girls.
I like books.
I like funny people.
I like romantics.
I think I'm pretty romantic myself.
I like people around my age.
I don't like making speeches.
I'm horrible at those.

And I think I will stop there. If you'd like to know more random crap about me or tell me random crap about yourself, then pm me. I could have organized my thoughts much better, but that would've taken at least an hour.

I'm not really sure what I look for in a guy/girl. I can only go off what I've liked about past guys/girls. I've liked guys/girls who were into metal music, guys who had long hair, guys who would do things just to try to make me happy, guys/girls who were nice and sensitive, guys who were tall, guys who were kind of psycho, and so on....
I'm mostly looking for a friend right now, but if that happens to lead to anything, then so be it.

Hello, my name is Quantum Cowboy, and I am an aspie. Very Happy

I am male and 29, and only discovered that I was an aspie this last summer. I am currently not able to find employment in my field (hardware design). This is likely due to a combination of the industry being in a depression (especially in North America), and the fact that my aspergers tends to show up unfortunately in interviews. My last serious chance ended up with the company flying me out for and interview, and then later telling me that my social skills weren't good enough to work as an engineer. Ouch!

However, that may be for the best. If I had taken that job, I would not have met my GF. She is diagnosed with ADHD. However, I have decided that I will diagnose her with AS, and treat her as such. Wink

I just found out today, that she is actually has a WP account. She joined, but never used it. Her user name is karalianne. So, everyone send her lots of messages, and fill her inbox. Maybe we can convince her to spend some more time here. Cool

PS. I am looking forward to making it to the 200 mark, like the OP says we will. thumleft

I hope I will not have too much problems finding a job, anyway good luck in finding a job.

I think that it largely depends on the discipline of engineering that you select. Civil and mechanical engineering are hot markets at the moment (at least here in Alberta). If one wishes to make a large amount of money for little work, specialize in environmental engineering. There are many environmental impact reports required for most large projects. They are comissioned for thousands of dollars each, and are largely cut and pasted from previous reports.

Personally, I am in hardware engineering due to the fact that it is one of my perseverances. Ah well. hmph

Hello.
I'm a 24-year-old college student.
I am very interested in translation, and right now I am studying French. Smile
The reason why I have started learning French is that...I liked "Le Petit Prince" very much. Embarassed
I love music and I always bring my iPod to anywhere!
When I was a teenager I really liked alternative/indie music such as shoegazer, grunge, newwave...etc.
I used to play guitars and drums.
But now, I'm rather interested in classical music and contemporary music although I still don't know much about them.
Well, I am interested in almost every kind of music!
I like reading and writing(and that's why I am interested in translation Smile ).
I can spend a whole day in a library!
I like novels,scholarly books,comics...etc.
And...what else??
I like drawing and taking photos.
And...unlike many people on this site, I'm not good at using computers. I prefer a notebook and a pen. Rolling Eyes
I am not an active internet user...
I'm a big fan of figure skating although I myself can't skate.
I prefer talking with people around my age who are positive and forward-looking.

Now, I can't tell you where I am from.
I had a weird experience before...when I wrote about where I live in on a board like this,
I got a lot of messages requesting friendships just because I am from that place!
Since then, I have decided not to make it public.

Anyway, that's all for now! Smile

Hey, I've been lurking for a while, and figured here would be a good place to introduce myself.

I'm Jon, 21year old student from Birmingham, UK.

Obsessions tend to come and go - right now it's Death Note, Naruto, building an excessively complex electric guitar, quantum mechanics (for my work on a unified theory of Naruto) and my thesis on the evolution of combinatorial logic circuits.

Looking to meet people online, or in person if they live nearby.

Hello Everyone.

Professor X here as, at this moment I tend to use my WP name instead of my real name until I've established good friendship which, is my sincere intention of coming here to make friends in a most wholehearted manner.Anyways, I'm 34 currently living in Florida whereupon I'll be soon taking up residence at a group home facility for fellow Aspies like myself.Yes, this may seem unpleasant if not negative in most people's minds however, I'm not at the level where I'd be best suited to leave on my own as once was the case in the past yet, don't let this deter you or drive anyone of you from befriending you cause, I'd still wish to be a friend to someone..

I enjoy movies, books, music and many outdoor activites as well but for the most part, I'm not going to turn this into some long, inane speech therefore, I hope to meet some nice, new friends whom will share the atrributes of honesty & trusthworthines!

ProfessorX
