They are, actually. The problem isn't the idea itself so much as what is often perceived as being implied in them, and this sort of reaction is understandable in light of many racist ideologies that promote discriminatory behavior and legislation based upon race theory. Some people are simply on a hair-trigger on the subject of race. A really intelligent discussion, though, would require the "races" to also be broken down into specific lineages, and other causal factors would have to be subject to analysis. It would require something a bit more sophisticated and in-depth than simply comparing general stats between large groups. We'd have to boil white down to Scots, Scots down to Gaels. Then we'd have to analyze variations between Gaels who settled in Scotland and Gaels who settled in other parts of Western Europe, and, while we're at it, perhaps take a crack at tracing and explaining the origin of the gene that causes Coeliac disease, which has a high prevalence in the region (it had to have come from somewhere). It could get pretty involved, really. Say we tried to trace the descendents of those who led the ancient schools of philosophy from right after the cruel and despotic Emperor Justinian I, at the dawn of the Church's descent into total corruption and its loss of what little legitimate purpose it had, shut them down on the pretense that they offended his supposed Christian ideals (For comparison, see North Korea). That goes a bit off the subject of race, of course, but it's more correct to say that race is a bit off the subject of population genetics.
We'd just have to somehow discourage the socio-political issues that inhibit positive discussion of the subject.

Actually, I wonder if this phenotype actually does produce any effects on cognition...it's an interesting thought.

It is all relative doesn't matter how you look at it.
To get a really good idea I think you would have to look at the way the brain has evolved and what parts were used in various cultures and also look at the ways people have lived to see anything very important in the way of which skills each culture or group of people has.
I know from living in the middle of a big city that people act very differently compared to the small villages where I spent some of my life. I would expect to find that little bits of my brain were slightly different or a little bit more developed in some areas now than in the past.
Differences are certainly interesting especially finding out why. |

The study I read a few months ago said that blue-eyed people are more analytical, while brown-eyed people are more kenetically intelligent. So, just two different types of intelligence, both quite valuable. (I have no idea if there's any merit to the study.)

Collectively, they are probably not as smart as whites. This is down to the lack of Aspies among the general population.
However there are cultural exceptions to the rule. At least here in the UK. African appear to do very well over here they are up there with the Hindu Asians and Japanese. Black people from the other Caribbean island are pretty smart, most Jamaicans are too bad ass and too NT like. |
There are some very intelligent NTs too though. And there are ignorant aspies... Intelligent, open-minded people are the real minority. Most people scurry to fit in somewhere along the chain of conformity. And this herd mentality is what leads to bad things, ranging from halucaust, slavery, wars and takeovers, inquisition, witch trials, persecutions, etc.... In the name of conformity, nobody is happy with being equal, they and their respective collective must be "superior". And of coarse they'll fall back on denial as a defense mechanism if you are to call them on it. Ultimately, this all boils down to the fact that people are domesticated like cattle, and have been for many many generations. This has lead to the gradual decline in mental abilities of the populace.
There are good aspies, there are bad aspies, just like any other group of people. We are no exception. Same goes for NTs. It's just another way to divide people. I recognize that there are mental differences between us and NTs obviously, but, I won't define my individual identity by a collective label. Not even a "conspiracy theorist", or "truther". I'll question anyone and everyone, including myself. I just came to my conclusions, on my own, by evolving myself intellectually and morally, and seeking knowledge, wisdom, truth, liberty, and justice. |

Usually, as long as a thread continues to be highly participated in, learning abounds for most readers.
If the old saying is true, that the wise man learns more from the fool than the fool learns from the wise man,
then all those who are wise have quite a lot to learn here in the PPR forum!
As long as fools keep writing, we'll keep learning. 
No, it's not the funnest way to learn, but it still works.

drumroll.....
Asians all scientific discoveries made by white people were descovered in asia many years before.That its not blacks because they came up with gangster rap then the ghettoh kid subculture which is the worst creation of all time though george washington carver is the best. so the correct answer is race doesn't determine intelligence because their are lots of white people dumber than a single cell organism.

I agree
I wonder sometimes why there arent more black conservatives. I know faith is very important in African American communities and that generally blacks drift toward christianity. Blacks however do not tend to vote for republicans. Im sure there are black republican candidates from time to time that garner interest, but it seems when black voters get to the booth they experiance a bout of "niggamortis" and vote democrat everytime. Whats that all about?
