Nice idea in theory, too bad every Autistic person has their own separate language.

Curiously, each deaf person has their own separate language, too.

As a strange little perseverance, I have started to teach myself British sign language. It's quite flexible, in that each user can tailor signs to mean whatever they want. It's rather more than just dialect... genuinely individualistic, so I gather.

I'm totally PO'd to hear that a kid at my school is doing a 2.5Km walk for "Autism Speaks." I am making it my personal duty to tell every student who will listen what a terrible organization it is. Anything else that I could do?

Is this for real?

Do they really want to murder baby's in the womb and call it a cure?

That's one more thing that I hate about Autism Speaks. They want to abort us. They think that autism is a fate that's worse than death.
(I don't know how to do the quote box)

Why do they think that?

It puzzles me, from what I have read on this organization they don't ask many (if any) Autistic Spectrum people what the needs are and have such an attitude to those they are supposed to help?!?!?!?

How did they appoint themselves to know what is best for a group they don't even seem to listen to? Crying or Very sad

Sorry if I went over-board there. I get very angry about things like this.
People pretending that they are representing another group.

For example:
I can represent my cat as I know what it needs; a warm lap, healthy tasty food and space to hunt mice (she's an outdoor cat).

How can a group be represented by a group that doesn't know what is needed?
