indeed..
i hate popularity contests too..
it should be based on factors... |
There should be certain Criteria for this process and those who are nominated via a committee of four mods and Alex himself because they are the higher up in the community. |
When did WP become a republic? We are a benevolent dictatorship under Alex with the help of the mods. This system has worked pretty well, and I see no reason to change it. Doing so would introduce forum politics to WP, which could only lead to trouble. _________________ WAR IS PEACE

There just ideas doesn't mean it should be like that. Personally too many people ask to be mods when they should just be patient and keeping reporting problems when mods are needed. _________________ Each person gets his or her own freedom and passion one by one

I just want to say how well I think this site is moderated. My congratulations to the mods.
I've been on other sites where the moderation is so ruthless that at least 20% of the posts get deleted - any hint of controversy and wham entire thread gone. And god help anyone who criticises the moderation - they get banned. That particular site seems to exist almost entirely of newcomers because regulars soon get fed up of posts disappearing and quit visiting or posting.
On the other hand, places like unmoderated usenet forums often get chocked with spam and vicious flame wars and can be unpleasant places to use.
The balance seems to be just right here in my opinion. I seldom come across any posts I find offensive, but there is plenty of healthy debate. |

For God's sake, never enter the PPR forum! Otherwise you'll shatter that blessed illusion. _________________ At moments when monsters spawn in by rising up from the ground, it turns the action into a gory, protracted session of Whack-A-Mole.

LOL. PPR doesn't even count. Half the time we're just arguing for the heck of it in there. But hey, at least it's a good safety valve for any argumentative temperaments. _________________ WAR IS PEACE

Yeah, I only go to PPR when I feel the need to "blow off steam" by playing with fire. I think it serves a purpose . . . of some kind. _________________ Things are going much better for me now! Those miserable days when I was writing long posts seem to be over!
Thank you to all who have read my long posts and especially to those who have offered in-put! |

We acknowledge the fact that there are extroverted aspies, as well people who have a need for more conflict in their lives. _________________
