So, I'm basically done with this thread.

Humourous, meatbag.

You're lucky you decided to vacate before I got here.

Yeah, the trouble is if someone wants to really push an argument about something, anything, they need to explain themselves well and have a working argument. When someone pushes more the fact that they're right just because the other side is wrong - its a situation where everyone else asks themselves "Ok, so if you asked a question or started a debate but weren't willing to answer our thoughts with anything substantive, why did you bring it up in the first place?". Other than on a pure emotional level (disliking a view, unwillingness to change, attacking it just to make yourself feel better) it really makes no sense.

I'm sure they are assured they were doing the right thing originally...

But sooner or later all such things will tend to get personal, lose sight of the real debate and just become asinine squabbling. Of course, provided one maintains a sense of foresight and awareness about such things, it isn't such a problem.

O'course, I'll bet the one attacking evolution was the first to fall into stubborn quarrel mode.

That said though I'll definitely reinforce the fact that there's nothing wrong with the original post; just that when one sees a viewpoint they disagree with the most sensible thing to do is probe it for weaknesses - not for the sake of overthrowing the other debater but to challenge their own beliefs to see if they hold as firm based on the facts (to which the end result could go either way based on the evidence). That last thing only comes from good listening/reading and asking intelligent questions in return.

Well, I guess one can't force another to think. *sigh*
