Even though it has been 35 years (and all your friends were married 15 years ago), you just haven't waited long enough.
Of coarse, it is also possible that:
1. Nobody likes you
2. Your unlucky
3. God desires to spite you (or desires that you stay single till you die, even though you have the desire for marriage)
4. You lack the social skills required to go from "Hi" to marriage. (Assuming you can get to the "Hi" stage with enough girls) |
God isn't that malicious or malignant.
God knows when the right person will come, you also have to listen to him and figure out how to make yourself more in his image.
OH and reading "When God Writes Your Love Story," by Eric and Leslie Ludy isn't a bad idea eithere. _________________ I don't believe in mercy without it being reciprocated.

I know, you advertise that book at every available opportunity.
What about the story of Jonah? That wasn't exactly "all benevolent" was it.
"God knows when the right person will come"
Yeah, he also knows when the person came, and went, and that your still single.
Seriously, there is no "magic' in the dating process.
If your a hermit, your not going to find a girl.
If your a weirdo, there are no girls for you.
People that say "God has your life all planned out" and "You just gotta listen to his Word" use that as a cop out.
When your life goes down the tub, they simply say "Well, I guess he didn't listen to God's Word. Poor soul!" and they continue on with their beliefs.
Religion is full of examples like that.
"Don't test your Father almighty" (as in asking for things and making demands and requiring proof and such)
"Everything happens according to His will" (Yeah, that poor sap on the bus that got beheaded. God made the crazy guy switch seats for the direct purpose of cutting his head off. Humans have Free Will, thus some things have to happen according to the choices which we make for ourselves...like murder)
"Ask and you shall receive" (Cop out being that God usually says "No")
I've also heard religous advice along the lines of, "You gotta meet God halfway and not expect anything." which translates to "you gotta try, and if that doesn't work then try harder". If you fail, then "It wasn't God's will" (you wouldn't be the one to blame, of coarse) and if it does work then "It was God's will" (even though you did a crap load of work to get there, you get none of the credit).
With all that said, I am a firm believer in God myself. I just don't think that he mini-manages my life.
Having the belief that anything you need will be handed to you on a silver platter is a bit off. |
