Ever since I was born, i've gotten on with and related to adults more than people of my own age. I seem to find it harder to converse with teens than I do with other adults. Adults are generally interested in what I have to say, where as teens don't even understand what I say! Shocked

But in regards to my behavior in total, I think it's still a bit immature. I don't like wearing make up, jump up and down when I'm happy/excited, laugh at silly things and am very emotionally sensitive and often cry if someone merely puts me down slightly. I still can't use a knife and fork properly.

I'm similar. id rather be around over-40's then people my age. maybe thats because people my age are more intimidating to me though Very Happy

I have always felt that I was either too immature or that I was more immature that normal. I am 19 and have friends that are 14,15,16,18 and one that is 19 but I also have friends that are in their 30's and 40's too. I feel more comfortable talking to my older and younger friends than my friends that is my age.

I think I act immature in that I don't take many things seriously... I prefer a playful conversation to a solemn one, any day.

I haven't socialized with others intuitively for the past 4 or 5 years so I don't know what I'm like now IRL.

But I'll say it straight. When I'm the most 'open' (for example, in online games) I can be a real twat. Usually I find something about myself to hate or something about somebody else to feel jealous about, or to nitpick about, and start cursing left and right and making things as difficult as possible for everyone. And I can totally see myself growing up to be an old bitter "keep your damn kids/pets away from my lawn!" man one day...

Heh, exact same situation with me actually.
I feel like there's a complete generation gap between me and other 13 year olds.

They usually think I'm really boring and I almost always feel the same way about them.

Even the music I listen to is from at least 10 to 40 years ago.

Nope. Quite the opposite for me actually. I always feel more mature than my peers, even some adults.

I'm aspie and when I was younger, I always prefered to socialise with people who were a few years younger than me, when I was about 13 my friends were all about 10-11. I started puberty at about 15 and by then most people were well into it and I looked about 10, i'm 18 and at uni now but people always say that I act like a little kid, I look about 15.

Just want to know if anyone else was like this?

Also, do you feel like you are your own gender? I know i'm a male and it's not at all like I think i'm a women but I always feel like i'm just different to the other males that I know.. it's weird

Well it's such a relief to know I'm not the only one Razz I used to have younger friends, about 3 years younger than me. Actually the first boy I ever kissed was some months younger Embarassed (which sounded like A LOT at that age-I was 15) . I'm also very short and small-built, and kind of baby-faced -or so I've been told- and people who don't know me tend to think I'm 15 or something. And I'm 19. D:

About the gender thing. Some people have meant to insult me by calling me a "tomboy" because of my tastes in music and clothing, or because I enjoy playing soccer a little bit too much. Though I can't say that really bothers me.

Same here. I've had relationship fall apart b/c I can be silly too much.

Sometimes I wish i was still at school, other times I hate looking young, so it flips. I do think I'm immature compared to most other 17/18 year olds, but intellectually I tend to think a bit more deeply than most people my age.

In some ways, I can feel very immature. In others, I feel much more mature than some. It varies.
