The game is fun the PvP servers are full of the kind of people I avoid in real life, I was on one for a year and wasn't all that bad at it I left the server though it was just the majority people there were the sort of subspecies of bullies and could barely type in understandable language while they ranted how powerful they were in game after killing someone thirty to fifty levels below them, because they obviously lacked any real self worth and must have felt powerless in their real life. I had a good time playing with friends and raiding, I really enjoyed the cooperation involved in the old forty man raids . Now I still play but not as much. I'm on a role play server now the people and social interaction is fun.
The nice part about it is there are a lot of different things people can do in the game not as many as I would like, but you can go PvP , raid , quest , collect stuff like pets and role play outfits, you can role play or just chat with others you know in the game.
I don't know about people who get addicted, people can engage in unhealthy behaviours with almost anything. Games seem no more addictive then books or sports teams or even some peoples obsession with social functions I have my circumscribed interests but I for the most part have been able to manage them around my real life obligations.
World of warcraft is fun , but some people take it too seriously, they make it not so fun. |

i like being the underdog
im a 70 gnome rogue called Kindern on Dramaspear EU (see the pattern in my Internet life)
Nothing beats the satisfaction of stun locking a tauren warrior to half health and the "will I wont I" survive this bit as he builds more and more rage.
i also like the strategy and balance of the classes... not everyones a damn mage

I have the whole WoW software package (including expansion), but not a computer worth running it on! Lag is awful.

Vordon, 70 Hunter, <Nocturnal> 5/5 6/9, Blackwing Lair (US-PvP)
Catbox, 70 Druid (feral), <Valhalla> 5/5 9/9, Malfurion (US-PvE)
I raid twice a day, but I have a pretty good scholarship which makes it so I can get by playing music for extra cash. I'm going to stop raiding on one of my characters, or perhaps both of them very soon, since I'm getting pretty tired of raiding. Although, I must say, wow has made me some good friends. |

I play WoW. My main is a 70 blood elf affliction lock on Scarlet Crusade (RP Server).
I also have several alts but the highest one is only level 48 (undead shadow priest; started out as holy but leveling as holy SUCKS when you're too shy to ask people to group with you  ).

Hah.
I love RP-ing with Immortalitis. Such fun to totally embrace immortality, undeath, savagery and armageddon incarnate, as all warlocks are.
So few really RP as true Undead. Most of the time they are just "emo, grey-skinned humans".
Blegh.
Immo's an asshole. Pure and simple. A 4000 year old Undead High-Elf Asshole with a Wife and Daughter.

I'm mainly on Deadwood, I mean Duskwood. We only have a few guilds who are actually progressing well through the high end content, and I'm not on enough to gear myself up to qualify to join them. RL happens, never mind that I'm as antisocial in game as out.
Anyway:
Vidaloka - 70 - Troll - Subtlety Rogue - my old main - she used to be combat/daggers when I "raided"
Ankh - 70 - Tauren - Enhancement Shaman - my current main, and damn fun to play
Ratzinger (nicknamed: Panzer Pope) - 70 - Undead - Shadow Priest - my main, uh, disenchanter...
Periphery - 70 - Draenei - Enhancement Shaman - started him on a server where a "friend" was playing and ported him off when the "friend" stopped talking to me for no reason - he never sees any action
My next highest toon is a 41 Orc Hunter, Whiskeytango with a pet called Foxtrot, but I guess I'm just not that into the class right now. I'm also raising the rest of my alts at least to 30 for patch 2.4.3 when they lower the level req for the apprentice riding skill.
I'm keeping a slot open for a DK. My wife and I will be raising ours together. She has 3 horde 70s as well and 2 more in the upper 60s with more on the way. She's a damn good healer.
