Yeah, it IS odd ESPECIALLY since, while I DO like HOT showers, I, like many people with AS apparently, like cold air!
As for HOW hot the showers are? Well, at my home. I turned the waterheater up as high as it would go, and I have the shower set as hot as it will go. In most other places, I have it turned as hot as it will go. The steam cleans out my lungs, and the mirrors get so foggy that I have to wipe them down to see. I can't put my glasses on in the room for quite a while, because they fog up!
So it IS HOT! |

Weird topic.
I never would've noticed that my showers are too hot or too long if my mom didn't complain about it
I don't try to make my showers long...I wash everything that needs to be washed, and by the time I'm done, it's been 40 minutes. I don't know how people take 5 minute showers. I would slip and fall and hurt myself trying to do it that fast.
I like other hot things as well...like leaning up against clothes dryers while they're running, or against those wall radiator heater things we had at school.
But I can't stand Michigan's humid weather >_< _________________ How wonderful to be so profound. |

wow, THAT's long. my hot water doesn't last much more than 20 minutes so i can't enjoy long showers like that. i've taken a 2 minute shower (washed my body, nothing else, had to get to the bus after a rowing competition) but usually they're between 5 and 10 minutes if i'm getting ready for something in the morning (work, doctor's appointment, sometimes school) |

| I LOVE my hot showers and am definitely negatively affected if I don't get one everyday. I like my showers hot enough to make me red too. I used to take longer showers but with three kids I have pushed it down to 5-10 minutes. |

| I can understand not wanting to get wet, but when I'm in the mood, long hot showers are great. Interestingly, my NT ex-girlfriend said the water was too cold for her! I can't take it too hot at first, I have to ramp up the temperature slowly. I think a sauna would be nice too, but I never tried it. |

I like hot showers with substantial water pressure. I can't stand places where you can’t get more than a lukewarm trickle from the shower head no matter how far you twist/pull the knob. What's up with that.
I suppose taking super long hot showers with a lot of water pressure isn't the most environmentally conservative thing to do. Can't handle showering any other way though. I have to make up by being less wasteful in other areas. |

| I forgot to mention that too, the pressure should be high. I hate low flow showers, it's like getting tickled, and you're cold because it doesn't heat you up enough. Luckily, my house is down the hill from the water supply, and I have higher than normal pressure. Due to this the previous owners turned the water temp up really high, you could burn yourself on it! Now if I only had that huge cast iron tub from my previous apartment... |

My partner tends to think that the water is scalding while I think it's hardly warm. A former partner said the same thing. I am wondering if this is some sort of sensory issue with me.

the boarding school i went to for high school had a mix of high and low pressure shower heads, so i had to get one of the good ones, but it always had hot water.... as long as the heater didn't break. i took REALLY long showers there sometimes and the tank never came close to empty. |

| LOVE long, very hot showers. One of my fondest memories is of the time we were holidaying at the beach when I was eleven - my friends and I went swimming on a cold, miserable winter day, and came back all wet, frozen and shivering, and at the end of our long walk back we got into the caravan park's showers and luxuriated in the hot water and the billowing steam. It was just f***ing awesome, the one thing I can now say is better than sex. |

oh yes... long hot showers that steams up the mirrors, then i get yelled at. LOL
my Mum constantly notes that it's so difficult in getting me in...but once I am...it's difficult to get me out...(though I have gotten better at that now that I'm older) _________________ *Christina*
