Hello Lotusblossom

I have friends who are engaged buddhists and like Thich, I believe that the contemplative paths of all the great religions, reach out like a beautiful network of roots that bind and hold the world. My tradition is the contemplative tradition within Christianity. My community is called the Catholic Worker which is a christiananarchist community where we live and work alongside the poor and marginalized in east london. We are also deeply engaged with non-violence and war resistance.

Thich, is a good friend of the CW and the work we do, for we share the same politics and spirituality.

The Alexander technique, is a way of being. It gives people very simple skills in order to be more present in themselves, with the intent to engage with this contemplative / mindfull way in everyday life activities. Below is my website.

Thank you so much for the links, I look forward to looking at them later.

Much peace to you Lotusblossom

Much peace to you Lotusblossom.

Chris.

Lotusblossom, would you like to tell me more about ideas of non-self. I find this very interesting indeed, especially as us aspies are supposed to be self-centered?

Willard. Could you tell me what tradition you draw from, when you say that the mystical traditions of the past do not reject the world. my study of the saints and mystics in many of the traditions leads to the opposite conclusion. Or would I be right in saying this is your personal opinion?

chris

I said they don't reject it as rotten. They do reject the addiction to materialism it perpetuates. I can't recall any spiritual teacher saying the world is a filthy, nasty cesspool (though religious leaders often do). They simply say that it's a distraction from our true nature, which is more refined.

I was thinking that asperger people are probably more likely to feel part of the whole than NTs (for want of a better word) as they lack theory of mind which is after all forgetting that others are seperate and dont know what you do.

Where as NTs feel very seperate and encapsulated which is what enables them to manipulate and make eye contact.

NT people definately seem to be very aware of there boundaries which I think is why they seek out connecting (social) experiences while asperger people feel too intruded upon (not seperate) so seek solitude as they dont possess that boundary.
