People,

As it is, we are worried about a witch hunt with WP. We are not going to do a witch hunt ourselves.

No one will be banned because they did not believe the WillFreund was going to commit such a brutal act. We need to calm down and collective breath. The site mods are working to make sure that those on the site did all they could have to prevent this (which I think we have as some members ever tried to find out where he lived to contact close relatives).

All this finger pointing and blaming ourselves and everyone else will not do us any good.

His second post or so was a suicide threat (in fact, I think he called it "Suicide Threat!"). I didn't take it seriously because the things he wrote about made me think he was complaining about a lack of money and a house and, in a sense, trying to extort the world into giving him what he wanted.

WillFreund bought a GUN. I think that was fair proof that he was serious. And desperate. He even mentioned the shot gun (which apparently he ended up using) and the local store he got it from and the shop owner and Will's guilt about using the innocent owner's gun.

But IMHO, despite any negative publicity, it is WP's duty to report what information we have to the proper authorities. I'm sure they're looking for any and all information they can get right now.

It wasn't AS that drove him to kill, though I'm sure the AS didn't help. He was suicidally and apparently homicidally depressed and angry at the world.

I just finished watching a segment about this on Fox News. They basically mentioned everything in the article on the first page. They also said the motive for the killings is unknown and there is no known connection between Freund and his victims. They didn't mention anything about AS.

I think the owner of WP should alert the relevent authorities of any information we know about Will Freund.

I hope all my talk about the Revolution over the last couple of months didn't put any ideas into his head!! ! . Then again I did say that if it were to occur, it would be a democratic consensus of the people, rather than a bloody killing spree.

Exactly what I was wondering when I first read this thread earlier this morning. I didn't didn't want to fuel any paranoia, so I witheld the original post. However, If the media did find out that he was a member here, I was wondering what they'd make of this site, as well as the fact that he had AS.

Again, I would like to stress the fact that I don't want to instigate any pranoia, but the media does like to push sensastionalist stories about "People that are Differant" in order to boost their ratings.

On the other hand, I do regret that Willfreund felt compelled to do this, and feel bad for the affected families. At the same time, however, I cannot say that I feel guilt over the matter. Many people make idle threats, and to react as if every seemingly idle threat, or allusion thereof were indeed imminant would be at best paranoiac and irrational, as well as self defeating. -- Remember the moral to the tale of the Boy who Cried Wolf?

and let's hold the thought about the families involved - all those of you who pray, or whatever, let's think of Will's family, and the Smith family.

That's a good idea and count me in as one of those praying for the families affected.
