It doesn't say anything about this, but it's possible that he's already been expelled from "normal schools", and so now he's in one of the only schools that HAS to take him.
This is a pretty big wake-up call to parents who believe that a special ed school is a better option than mainstream schools. If anything, their kids are LESS safe in schools like these. |
Oh it's a special school. I see, so I guess they figure to look the other way, cause why should the feelings of a retard matter. |

Sadly, that's how a lot of schools like that operate. Hell, just six months ago in Quebec, an autistic boy suffocated to death because a teacher's assistant left him face down, wrapped head to toe in a weighted blanket for a few hours. The school had the nerve to describe his death as "peaceful and natural". Scary crap. |

She should switch schools and start fresh.
That principal should be fired also. |

This is nothing short of sick. How can we stand for this? How can scociety stand for this?
Why can't we protect ourselves? Why can we as a minortiy stand up and demand jusctic for this girl and for ourselves? Why do people just ignore us like this? This child was raped in front of her peers -sue the school. They failed to disapline the boy, they failed to protect the girl and they failed to protect her after the fact.
And where are the twelve-year-old's parents in all this? |

| Sinsboldly, this is absolutely horrendous, as I've heard a great deal about such attrocities like this over the many years and makes me feel less than plesant, for I wish not to be profane but, in many ways, I've come to know the horrors of such that many Autistic people face all throughout society and it seems that things of this nature tend to happen way too often. Honestly, hopefully this can be fully resolved and there will be justice served.. |

| If I was the father of the girl( I am male) I would personally sue the principal and the superintendent, as well as the boy's parents (He's not 18 yet). |

| I was sexually harrassed before, but nowhere this bad. I hate people who pick on people with mental disorders just because they're easier targets. I remember those days when I was such an easy target. |

Hi all - sorry I only spotted this thread now. This happened in South Africa (where I'm from). I followed this story in order to assist where I can. It turned out that the mother has munchausens by proxy. Please read the rest of the saga click here.
It is so completely horrible: the whole story and the fact that it could or could not have been fabricated, in the end. The school's lack of appropriate response, whichever turns out to be the truth, is unforgivable, though.
I have made available an open channel of support for this family and nobody has taken it up. I have sent personal messages to the sister of this child and she is so absorbed in her own psychological dramas, she just never responded. In the meantime, I have no idea what is happening to the child (in fact, no idea whether she is aspie, even).
For all of those that had abuse happen to them (as children or adults): I am so sorry. Please speak up. And when you grow up, please do not let it go, keep speaking up. Family and school authorities really can screw things up. YOU are the one that must make the truth known. |

This is outrageously wrong. The boy should be arrested and charged with rape, regardless of his age. The school ought to be sued, especially since they failed to protect her after the incident. Oh, and (sarcasm on) I just loved the way the principal or whoever it was tried to blame the mother (I think it was the mother) by saying "You brought this on yourself by calling the police" (sarcasm off).
On top of that, this was done while the other students were watching, so they handled this way below just plain "poorly", they handled it atrociously. I wouldn't say the lack of response is anything new, though. Most schools generally turn a blind eye to bullying of any sort, but especially sexual harassment/rape/bullying of a sexual nature, often because that subject is considered "taboo" by society as a whole, the same way spousal abuse is. Most children generally don't know much about this sort of thing, as parents often have the idea of "They're children, they don't need to know about (this/that/the other)", and thus feel the need to shelter their kids. That said, even a 9-year-old should know that rape is a serious crime that should be dealt with accordingly. _________________ "I Would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than those attending too small a degree of it."
