Thank you. I'm already seeking medical and psychological help. My CPN suggested that it 'might' be AS so i thought i'd get a second opinion here, hope you don't mind...

for example, there are a lot of reasons for social phobia, ... It may be just being too self-conscious, but it may be because of scitsophrenia too...
From what I get Uranum is quite normal (NT) but self-centered person. All the traits listed above are quite natural for any person. The depression and axiety can be probably explained by the age of the author. I assume she is about 17 or 19. |
schizophrenia?
self-centered person?
Phhhh haha hah aha haaah ha!
If i didn't know you better, i'd say you were looking for a reply. I've dedicated most of my life freely to charity work, I'd hardly call that self-centered! I'm 30-ish actually, my depression started from the age of 16.

There was a suggestion, that social phobia is a sign of Asperger's syndrom. I objected, saying that you cannot make a conclusion based on that. Because social phobia may have a variaty of reasons. I gave two very extreme examples of reasons: normal but self-conscious person and a person with a severe disorder.
I mistakenly thought that the IQ which was quoted was extremely high.
Actually I observed that the characteristics given in the original post are nothing but things normal to everyone.
EVERYBODY has difficulty multitasking. Multitisking is not something which is "sometimes " difficult . It is just damn dificult because a human brain cannot effectively focus on more then one thing at a time.
EVERYBODY can be distructed when reading a book. It is fairly normal.
BTW, one can be very charitable and self-centered at the same time. By self-centered I did not mean selfish. But when somebody says: I talk to somebody and I am not interested in what he is saying. Or when somebody comes to a new forum and opens a topic about himself in General Discussion section rather then in "Getting to know each other" - that means he is self-centered. |

I said "I often get distracted or bored while listening to a conversation, although i try to make sure they think i'm listening."
Perhaps being bored was the wrong word to use here. What i'm trying to say is, I tend to drift away or daydream while listening to a conversation and then i lose interest. I do appreciate that people want to talk to me. Mostly though, i do not know what to say, including on forums like this.
I did open a topic in the 'Getting to know each other' forum, although i used it as a greeting as stated on the main page "This is also the place to say "Hi! I'm new" and start as a new member". Again, i do not know what to say, it is difficult for me to tell you about myself because, to be honest, i don't know much about myself. In fact, I think other people know more about me than myself, lol. Anyway, I have lead a very boring life, up until now that is.
The only understanding that i know of about the word 'self-centered' is...
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=define:+self-centered&btnG=Google+Search&meta=
If there is a different meaning, perhaps i have missed it. Isn't it one of the Asperger symptoms not to know the meaning of some words? |
