Hey thanks Idaho Rose and Makayla Very Happy , usually it takes me a month to do some of my work, but then again I work at a slower pace. I am still relatively new with creating artwork so I still lots to learn but its been fun learning along the way so far. A larger size image would be a brilliant idea, the only setback is that I use a program called Xara photo and graphic designer which takes up alot of RAM even more than photoshop. If I put in too much a error messege will pop up saying that I am out of memory in a sense of RAM. If you look at the artwork at the top of my post, I had to delete/erase some things and kind of dumb it down so my laptop could handle it.

My first attempt at digital painting! Only the airbrush tool was used. No pencil tool!
EDIT: *facepalm* I really should pull up a reference picture before drawing next time... The beak area is totally wrong.

Thanks Sparx! Very Happy

So, I saw the word "petrichor", that fresh, grassy smell you get after rain, on Facebook just now, and it inspired me to draw this.
This is Petrichor. She is not finished yet. I'll draw her other wing and color her tomorrow.

And now, ladies and gentlemen... Petrichor!

Finished this about twenty minutes ago, been working on it for the last two hours. I had to get everything just right, and it worked out that way. Smile

Two of Egypt's most famous female monarchs, Pharaoh Hatshepsut on the left and Cleopatra VII on the right. Hatsy doesn't seem too pleased with Cleo for taking her spotlight in Western pop culture.

I was aiming for a somewhat "Rihanna" look for Cleo with the wavy hair and light brown complexion; in fact, I was listening to Rihanna the whole time while coloring this in GIMP!

^ Nice swirls!

My portrait of the most famous Egyptian matriarch after Cleopatra. She was much more successful as a ruler than Cleo, so had memory of her lasted longer Hatsy rather than Cleo would be the most popular Egyptian queen today. Alas, thanks in large part to her successor Thutmose III's efforts to obliterate any mention of her from Egyptian records, it's only been relatively recently that Hatsy has received any public spotlight.

If you look closely, you might notice that I've given Hatsy a few moles on her skin for additional realism.

How big are those heads?!

I have to own up and admit that the camera angle makes the Moai head looks a bit bigger than it really is - only about one metre in height. Perhaps folks expect it to be larger because of the size of the real things on Easter Island.

Thanks - after all the time it took to make it in the workshop, it's pretty satisfying to see it erected and finished...

.. and not falling down! Very Happy
