Puns. I think they come naturally to us because they usually rely on splitting one, less literal meaning away from the other, more literal meaning.

I threw a 3-second mini-tantrum at someone today who wouldn't get out of my way. I made her cry for a minute. :-(

My guess is we have same percentage of weird hair as the general populace, but 1) we are less serious about combing/brushing, and 2) we're more perceptive of hair weirdness. In my case, I'm slowly balding, even though there is no baldness in my family, and, more interestingly, my hair grows horizont...

You mean that the experience of suffering made you more compassionate? Interesting. I lost a classmate to a tragic accident the summer after 5th grade. I absorbed a lot from observing the reaction to that. I cried, even though I didn't know her that well, I suppose because the thought of death is sa...

I didn't get my license until I was 23 and about to get married. Before that, I didn't really have friends to visit or other things to drive for, so what was the point, right? I have a perfect driving record, though. I probably wouldn't be a trucker because I wouldn't want to deal with the physical ...

Having an explanation (finally) for so many weird things about my social interactions. I'm at peace.
Having a strong memory for facts and data.
My special interests.
Being logical and rational.

I work full-time. I was in high school education for 7 years, which was very largely a mistake I got trapped into. I almost got fired a few times for foot-in-mouth situations and I couldn't stand the dishonesty of my employers. I once caught a student blatantly plagiarizing and the parents went nucl...

ISTJ with a wobbly S/N. I used to test as an INTP/J. I adopted a strong sense of duty to adjust to my very official career, and that may have thrown it off toward ISTJ, which is very dutiful. You'd think our primary means of interacting with the world would be senses, though, not intuition, as our s...

I pay attention to the weather, partly because I enjoy science in general and weather is one of my science special interests. Partly because I'm from Nebraska and have a wider array of weather experiences than my current neighbors in Louisiana, so it gives me reason to talk about it and keep an eye ...

When I was a teenager, I measured as an INTP/J. As I got older and my Asperger's symptoms (although I didn't know I had Asperger's) didn't have as much opportunity to show up, I started measuring ISTJ. I can see aspies being INTJ, but I don't think it's exclusive. We should be careful not to make th...

I've been reading a lot about Asperger's and I keep getting different impressions of the concept of empathy. Some people seem to think we can't empathize at all. Others seem to think we have a hard time of it. Others seem to think we only appear to empathize because we use our intellects to imitate ...

Yep. Catholic theologian aspie here. :-) (I'm new to this "aspie" thing. Is it just me or does it sound like a dog breed?) I used to wander the blacktop during recess as a kid, by myself, talking to God. I'm sure that looked weird to the people around me, but I was content. Then I stopped caring abo...

I was referred to this site by a friend. Self-administered autism spectrum quotient test a couple times over a few years and I fall in the 36-40 range, plus I have a ton of symptoms. I don't have a practical reason to need a diagnosis because I'm fairly well adjusted, except for the occasional awkar...
