Of course it isn't right, but its a built in animal instinct to suspect the unusual, the minority. And we autistics are a minority in every bloody nation. Is it acceptable to be sexist or racist? I think not either. It's just that animal instincts are so hard to control, and easy to inflame. Luckily...

Other than his unnecessarily (IMO) hostile nature to ALL religious people (including the non-violent, reasonable moderates), I find Dawkins fairly... progressive regarding other PC subjects. I really don't get the point of getting upset when an old fart makes a vaguely sexist or racist comment, unle...

Yes. What a pointless question NTs have to ask, then be surprised that my answer is much longer than expected. They themselves seem to like lying when answering this banal "greeting" as well. Then again, when times are hard (like now, exam seasons), people run out of greetings fast, as eve...

Not too familiar with the others, but Dawkins have gotten on my nerves for a while. I was a fan of his, but then I saw his decline into the same sort of cognitive extremism he was ranting so much about, albeit without a religious agenda. I mean, live and let live, man. If a Christian, or Muslim or w...

Do you actually want friends? Do you enjoy other people's company? Some don't, there's nuttin' wrong with that. While I certainly lean towards being an introvert, I do enjoy people's company, even if it's just a short period of time (I get mentally tired easily in those situations). I understand wh...

Did I mention it's the end of year? And I guess my social anxiety doesn't really help either. I do have a nasty tendency to flee from crowds. I mean, I do join up in clubs, and I have friendly interactions with random strangers. Don't see them often, but still friendly (politeness?!). But I don't kn...

They never said that I was insensitive etc (that's from general people + a closer friend; she was just checking whether I was feeling alright). Anyways, one contributing factor may easily be the fact that I am very often not in the same page. Not surprising, as I am still utter clueless at the whole...

You get what you pay for. As for federal contracts, there are a few different types. I would dig around to find out what type of bid the body armor contract was, but I'd rather sleep early. Suffice to say, it most likely wasn't the lowest bidder (but was very likely the most politically connected)....

Either way, religion is an effective tool to manipulate and motivate the people to fulfill an end.

The question is why is it so compelling to some? Compelling enough to override rational thought (when the time is right).

Bloody effective tool. Must be a lot of psychology behind it.

"Powerless" to help British steelworkers, but will do everything to help those bankers who sunk our economy in the first place. Our government is s**t. But really, you get what you paid for. Sadly, many industries (their CEOs) are obsessed with maximizing profit. So they go for the cheapes...

From relatives in mainland China (PRC), they can vote for majors, village headmen etc. It seems that at a low (and local) level, there are some forms of elections. The locals select a few people, and the higher ups then have their say. Makes sense to allow some degree of choice to keep the dissatisf...

I'm sure that many of you people had this disheartening experience. Repeatedly. I don't have many "friends" to begin with, let alone do stuff with. Normally, I won't mind when they do NT stuff without involving me; I'm not into clubbing and s**t anyways. But this... had happened too many t...

the IARC list categorizes how strong the evidence is, not how carcinogenic something is. The evidence is that eating 'processed meats' increases your chances of butt cancer from substantially less than 1% to still substantially less than 1%. Unless you also get enough fiber in your diet. Then the r...

Agnostic. Which god is more real than the other? No one can really answer that impartially. I do, however, find religion fascinating: how many arrive into similar conclusions despite being separated by a fricking ocean. How it simultaneously pushes people to either do extraordinary acts of kindness ...

Because it's someone else's personal choice. That's why. Unless it's you own f-ing uterus, you really don't have the right to do any more than have an opinion. This whole issue IMO had always revolved around control, not "ethics". Always implying that somehow, women are not to be given res...
